The One Show off air for weeks as schedules change for Paris Olympics

As a long-time fan and devoted viewer of The One Show, I must admit that I am feeling a pang of sadness with the announcement of their temporary hiatus during the Olympics. The thought of missing out on my daily dose of news, entertainment, and engaging conversations between Alex Jones, Roman Kemp, Jermaine Jenas, and Ronan Keating is truly disheartening.

During the summer, The One Show will temporarily go off the air as part of BBC One’s schedule adjustments to broadcast the Olympic Games.

The 2024 Olympic Games began on July 24th and will last for three weeks, showing numerous sports competitions every day until August 11th.

Alex Jones and Roman Kemp shared the news that The One Show would temporarily go off the air during the Olympics broadcasts, with Katy Perry as their last featured guest.

During the intermission, Roman Kemp addressed the audience and expressed his gratitude to Katy Perry. He then invited everyone to enjoy the Olympics and promised to return on August 12th.

I regularly tune in to The One Show every weekday at 7pm. This entertaining program is skillfully hosted by Alex Jones, Roman Kemp, Jermain Jenas, and Ronan Keating. However, during this season, the presenters will be taking a brief vacation, so we won’t see them on our screens for a short while.

“Bye, have a nice summer,” Jenas said following Kemp’s announcement.

The One Show had a week-long break in July due to BBC’s broadcasting of Wimbledon 2024.

The BBC is back on the airwaves to provide live Olympic coverage for viewers, but it’s not the sole broadcaster for the games. Discovery+ has secured the rights for the Paris 2024 Olympics as well.

Although we won’t provide real-time reporting for every occurrence, you’ll find ample content to review on various BBC channels.
