Based on accounts from several individuals who were present at the convention, Scott Grimes, star of The Orville, reportedly disclosed during a performance that filming for the fourth season of The Orville is set to commence in January 2025. Although Hulu hasn’t made an official statement about renewal, numerous attendees of Star Trek Las Vegas have been active on social media, sharing Grimes’ announcement.
According to TrekProfiles’ latest tweet, Scott Grimes indicated that production for the next season of The Orville is set to begin following New Year’s Day.
The official Twitter handle for “The Orville” has remained silent since April 2023, but we’re eagerly awaiting any fresh news or posts.
Last year, Grimes hinted that we might have announced Season 4 just before the show’s hiatus. He believes it’s quite likely we’ll produce another season. Seth’s son enjoys working on The Orville, so it would be a pity not to make one more season. Therefore, I would say I’m optimistic about the possibility of another season. That’s my take on it.
MacFarlane previously stated that he was trying to recall a specific, diplomatic message Hulu shared regarding the show’s status. All he could confirm was that Hulu had expressed the show was not canceled. No one from the network has informed him otherwise, so they are moving forward under this assumption.

As a gamer diving into the next level of this epic series, it’s tricky to foresee what exactly Season 4 would entail. When we started crafting the storyline for Season 3, many twists and turns – like the Alliances shifting, the Kaylon joining forces, and the Moclans turning adversarial – were totally unforeseen. These surprises emerged organically within our writers’ room as the narrative unfolded. We did seed several threads this season, and they seem to point towards some exciting resolutions in Season 4. However, the intricate web of how all these elements interconnect, evolve, and develop… frankly, I’m not even sure if we’ve been given the green light for another season!
