The Outer Worlds 2 Factions, Companions, and New Radio System Detailed

In the spotlight after the Xbox Games Showcase Direct, Obsidian Entertainment unveiled fresh insights about The Outer Worlds 2‘s factions, companions, and other aspects. According to a recent post on Xbox Wire, there are three significant factions you’ll need to navigate โ€“ The Protectorate, The Order of the Ascendant, and Auntie’s Choice.

These entities not only have distinctive territories and supporters, but based on your actions, they can conquer towns and even manipulate radio broadcasts. As stated by Obsidian’s senior communications manager, Shyla Schofield, “The narrative about your actions is spun, biased, and presented with catchy jingles that cater to each faction’s objectives. One station might label you a folk hero. Another may brand you as public enemy number one. Each of them encourages you to try their latest health tonics.

In the latest update, we have fresh and recurring items such as the Shrink Ray, Characteristics including Kleptomaniac which boost your loot sales but might cause you to unintentionally snatch an item anytime, and also the addition of a third-person perspective view.

In the game, up to six distinct characters can be enlisted as companions. These individuals range from reliable allies to unpredictable wild cards and potential sources of trouble. Each companion offers unique possibilities – such as sparing faction leaders or destroying entire towns – and you’re free to decline their company if you’re willing to forgo certain storylines.

The group consists of Niles, who joined the Earth Directorate; Inez, a subject from Auntie’s Choice with a “grafted combat edge”; Aza, a follower of Rift who is known for being violent; Marisol, an assassin from Order of the Ascendant; Tristen, a judge in the Protectorate; and Valerie, a member of the support unit.

And if you’re a Game Pass member, you can embark on this journey from day one at the affordable price of $79.99. Let the galactic quest begin!
