Rather than waiting for a specific announcement about The Outer Worlds 2‘s release date, Obsidian Entertainment has officially confirmed that their upcoming sci-fi role-playing game will be released on October 29th. This release applies to Xbox Series X/S, PC (through Steam, Xbox PC, and Battle.net), and PS5. Additionally, it’s set to launch on Game Pass on day one. You can watch the latest story trailer below for more information.
In this tale, you’ll assume the role of a cosmic investigator from Earth Directorate, tasked with exploring Arcadia to uncover mysterious fissures that could endanger the entire universe. However, it won’t be simple – influential corporations such as Auntie’s Choice, who are attempting to colonize the planet, may complicate matters (though it seems there might be opportunities for cooperation).
In the recent demonstration, we’ve unveiled fresh weaponry, such as a colossal weapon reminiscent of the BFG, capable of obliterating foes, and there’s an abundance of slow-motion effects. What stands out is that players appear to have control over rifts using a device, which can serve multiple functions like creating jumping platforms. Further information will be disclosed during the upcoming The Outer Worlds 2 broadcast, so keep your eyes peeled.
