As a seasoned gamer and a lifelong fan of the Batman universe, I can confidently say that the finale of The Penguin has me on the edge of my seat! After binge-watching this gripping series over the past few weeks, I’ve grown quite attached to Oswald Cobblepot’s journey and can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
Last night’s episode of “The Penguin” on HBO intensified the action and plunged the series into a shocking climax, promising an unexpected ending next week. All along, Oz Cobb and another character have been vying for power in Gotham City’s criminal realm, and it seems there’s little chance both will survive this battle. With tension mounting, fans are anticipating a thrilling finale.
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share my excitement over the trailer for the grand finale of “The Penguin” that you can find right above! This thrilling sneak peek brings the series’ turbulent energy to the forefront. A touch of Oswald’s past unfolds through flashback scenes, where he petitions his mother not to abandon him. In the current narrative, it seems that Sofia and Oswald are engaged in a deadly dance, each making treacherous power plays aiming for the ultimate triumph. The scene in Gotham City courthouse featuring Oswald and Sofia standing before a pillar of flames leaves me guessing—but one thing’s for sure: the finale promises to be an absolute whirlwind!
In the second to last episode of The Penguin, events reached a dramatic and quite literal explosion point. Oz, attempting to negotiate with Sofia for his mother’s return, received a gift from her. Upon arrival at his headquarters, he expected Sofia to be inside the car. With Salvatore Maroni deceased, leaving Sofia without her strongest ally, Oz believed he could take control. However, when he discovered Sofia wasn’t in the car, his fear turned to dread as he anticipated finding his mother’s body. Instead, he encountered an explosion.
In the water reservoir, where sadly Oz had previously taken the lives of his brothers in an accident, he could have hidden and fled. However, Crown Point’s block where his operation resided didn’t fare as well; the explosion destroyed a significant portion of the street. Although Oz miraculously survived the blast, he was later discovered by someone affiliated with Sofia, indicating that his problems are far from resolved.

Among the main mysteries leading up to this finale is how The Penguin might pave the way for events depicted in “The Batman: Part II.” Although the Caped Crusader isn’t present in the show’s narrative, The Penguin serves as a link between the initial and second Matt Reeves’ Batman films. By establishing a fresh order in Gotham City, he opens the door for more villains to gain power, thereby laying the foundation for what challenges Batman will encounter in the eagerly awaited sequel.
The Penguin‘s finale will air on HBO Sunday night at 9pm ET.
