The Penguin release date confirmed – UK to air episodes later than US

As a movie critic with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the upcoming spin-off series “The Penguin” is a tantalizing prospect for DC fans everywhere. Having witnessed Colin Farrell’s remarkable transformation into the iconic villain in Matt Reeves’ The Batman, I am eager to delve deeper into the character’s origin story and rise to power.

More than two years have passed since Matt Reeves’ interpretation of Gotham City debuted in “The Batman,” and although the sequel is yet to come, we’ll be revisiting the world he created quite soon.

As a dedicated cinephile, I’ve been eagerly awaiting the premiere of “The Penguin” spin-off series, and I’m thrilled to share that my American counterparts will be able to catch it from September 19th on HBO. Now, let me give you some good news if you’re from the UK—you too can join in the excitement as Sky has confirmed the release date for us! So, mark your calendars, folks!

The DC series is set to premiere in the United Kingdom on both Sky Atlantic and NOW starting from Friday, 20th September – a day behind its U.S. debut.

In the upcoming show, fans will once again encounter Colin Farrell’s portrayal of The Penguin, a character that initially appeared in “The Batman”. His interpretation left viewers amazed because of Colin Farrell’s impressive physical makeover.

In simple terms, the eight-part sequence will start a week following the occurrences seen in The Batman, and it will trace Oswald Cobblepot’s journey as he ascends through the ranks of Gotham’s criminal network.

In this series, Farrell shares the screen with Cristin Milioti portraying Sofia Falcone, Rhenzy Feliz as Victor Aguilar, Michael Kelly in the role of Johnny Viti, and Shohreh Aghdashloo playing Nadia Maroni.

Robert Pattinson’s presence isn’t anticipated at the moment, but it’s always possible that he might pop up unexpectedly for a special appearance.

“The darkness enveloped me, dear Penguin. Indeed, it was pitch-black. I feel a profound sense of relief now that it’s over, yet I cherished every moment of it. However, I must admit, by the time we wrapped up, I was more than ready to step away from the makeup chair.”

Beginning on Friday, 20th September 2024, the show “The Penguin” can be viewed on both Sky Atlantic and NOW. For details on how to subscribe to Sky TV and catch this exciting event, please explore further information.
