As a seasoned concert-goer who’s witnessed the rise and fall of many iconic bands, I must say that The Prodigy’s return is nothing short of electrifying! Having seen them in their heyday and even danced to their beats at some underground raves, it’s heartening to see them back with a fresh attack. Liam Howlett has always been a mastermind when it comes to creating sonic chaos, and I can only imagine what Disrupta will bring.
The iconic band, The Prodigy, are making a comeback and gearing up for a wave of excitement with another UK tour. Known for their sometimes contentious yet always electrifying performances, they’re set to traverse the nation this coming December, bringing along their fresh show titled “Disrupta.
In a press statement about upcoming shows, The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett expressed enthusiasm for performing in the UK and their beloved venue, Brixton Academy. He promised a musically innovative performance that would stir things up. So get ready to feel disrupted!
Known as a dance music legend, their electronic group will be performing in Bridlington Spa, Manchester, Wolverhampton, and London. Throughout all these shows, DJ Jaguar Skills will provide support, while Jack Saunders is set to perform on the last two nights at Brixton.
The band got together way back in 1990, with keyboardist Howlett at the helm. He recruited singer Keith Flint, another keyboard player named Leeroy Thornhill, and vocalists Maxim and Sharky, who served not only as singers but also as the band’s MC and dancer.
This group is frequently recognized for being trailblazers of the big beat genre, having risen to prominence within the UK’s clandestine rave culture. Their songs “Charly” and “Everybody in the Place” even made it to the top 5 on the UK charts.
After Flint’s passing in 2019, the main vocals have largely been handled by Maxim, who stole the show at this year’s Reading Festival and was praised by NME as delivering a “gloriously unhinged” performance. Now they’re making a comeback, so here’s your chance to shake up your routine with some tickets.
