As a dedicated fan of Middle Earth and its captivating lore, I must say that the return of Bridie Sisson’s character, The Dweller, in The Rings of Power season 2 has left me utterly spellbound! Her chilling encounter with the Dark Wizard, Ciarán Hinds, was nothing short of mesmerizing and has certainly heightened my anticipation for the upcoming episodes.
*Warning: Spoilers ahead for the first 3 episodes of The Rings of Power*
Amazon’s Middle-earth saga, The Rings of Power, has returned for another round, with an unexpected turn: a character who perished during season 1 is now back among the living!
Should you happen to be among those who haven’t watched the initial two episodes of the captivating fantasy series, I would advise you to steer clear for a moment, since significant spoilers lie ahead.
In the closing moments of episode 2, it is this specific character who makes an appearance, as the ominous Dark Wizard (played by Ciarán Hinds in the Amazon’s Rings of Power series) seeks assistance to locate “the Istar,” also known as The Stranger, who is accompanying the Harfoots on their journey.
That help comes in the shape of Bridie Sisson’s The Dweller.
In a chilling moment, the sinister Sorcerer summons The Resident. The Resident replies, “The darkness Sauron casts is growing more profound. Rumor has it that he’s assumed a new disguise to mislead his adversaries.”
Sauron, of course, has chosen a new disguise, though he’s still played by Charlie Vickers.
Afterward, the Dark Magician inquires from The Dweller about “the Mysterious One” or “The Outsider.” The Dweller replies that he is currently wandering aimlessly, and the Dark Wizard assures him this won’t last long, as they need to track him down before he gains control over his hidden powers.
In the upcoming episodes, it seems the peaceful giant may encounter difficulties, especially since a cloaked pursuer has menaced the Harfoot community.
Regarding the method by which the Dark Wizard revived The Dweller, we’re still unclear about the details at this point. All we know is that the character mentioned he ‘spilled blood’ to summon her in his presence.
The credits indicate that Sisson is coming back, but we won’t find out about any further mischief she might cause or whether she will make it through another round until next week.
The second season of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will begin streaming on Amazon Prime Video on August 29, 2024, Thursday. Don’t miss out! Start your Prime Video journey with a complimentary 30-day trial today.
