As a dedicated fan of the Prince of Persia series, I’ve been eagerly following the developments of The Rogue Prince of Persia, and the latest update has left me thrilled! Being a proud owner of a Steam Deck, the Steam Deck optimization is like a dream come true for me. It’s fantastic to see this game expanding its reach to more platforms, allowing us fans to enjoy our beloved series in new ways.
Fans of the game “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” have faced setbacks due to reports of poor sales and the dissolution of its development team. On a brighter note, another significant 2D installment in the series, titled “The Rogue Prince of Persia,” is persistently moving forward in early access. In fact, it has recently received an important update.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Update 9 has not only introduced fresh gameplay and content but also optimized The Rogue Prince of Persia for the Steam Deck! This means my favorite sidescrolling roguelike is now officially Steam Deck Verified, as confirmed by the developers at Evil Empire on Twitter.
The “Evil Empire” has cautioned that certain users might encounter occasional performance problems in the game’s central area and some advanced environments. Despite the developer’s promise to enhance performance throughout the early access phase, they currently suggest enabling the 30 FPS limit for a smoother experience if you’re playing on Steam Deck.
You can now play “The Rebel Prince of Persia” in its early access version on your personal computer. Here’s a review of the early access launch that you might find interesting.
Following our recent update, the Rogue Prince of Persia has been confirmed compatible with Steam Deck! However, do note a few things:
