Read on for everything you need to know about the ending of The Stolen Girl.

Was Nina really Lucia’s mother?

In the storyline, there came a time when it appeared as though Nina might have been Lucia’s biological mother. The twist being, she was presumably stolen away at some stage and found herself living with Elisa and Fred instead.

Nina even showed Lucia photographs with her as a baby, where she had her recognisable birthmark.

As it transpired, what had been assumed incorrectly. Instead, Nina was digitally altering older pictures featuring herself and her late daughter.

She applied the birthmark intentionally, aiming to convince everyone that Lucia had been her true daughter since birth.

Who did Nina kill?

In the third installment of “The Stolen Girl,” Milan Matkovic, the trafficker Nina had enlisted for kidnapping Lucia and facilitating her escape, visited Nina’s residence in search of payment.

1. It was explained to him that his task was to retrieve Nina’s biological child, not to swipe another person’s.

2. The noose seemed to tighten around him because of the police inquiry, given that they had invaded his secure hideouts.

In order to acquire enough funds for his escape, he made up his mind to pilfer the money from Nina. However, she objected vehemently, but he overpowered her and pinned her down, attempting to strangle her severely, threatening that if she didn’t comply, he would murder her, ransack the house, and make off with the money.

In her dying moments, Nina found the strength to snatch a sewing needle and thrust it repeatedly into Milan’s neck, ultimately taking his life. Afterwards, she tidied up the scene and interred his body in a nearby location.

Why did Nina take Lucia?

Ultimately, it was discovered that Nina had mainly adopted Lucia due to a tragic event – the murder of her granddaughter Rose, who was Josie’s sister. Moreover, it was Elisa who was responsible for the heinous act.

Elisa had been involved romantically with one of her clients, Marcus, whom she often attended to on his personal jet. As a result, she conceived a child by him, implying that George, their son with Fred, was in fact Marcus’s offspring.

Prior to George’s arrival, Elisa and another individual (presumably her mother) went to visit Elisa’s family, as her father was near death. During their stay, Elisa and her father engaged in a heated disagreement, which ultimately led to the disclosure that he had sexually abused Elisa when she was a child. It was also revealed that Elisa’s mother was aware of this abuse and chose to protect him instead.

During a heated argument, she shoved him forcefully, causing him to stumble down the staircase. He struck his head on impact and tragically passed away as a result.

While driving hastily, it was Nina, along with her husband Nicholas, their daughter Rose, and another daughter named Josie, who were inside the vehicle. Due to Josie feeling unwell, they had pulled over onto the roadside. To assist her, Nina carried Josie onto a nearby grassy area.

At that point, Elisa’s vehicle collided with Nina’s, resulting in the instantaneous deaths of Nicholas and Rose. Marcus had instructed Elisa to continue driving, which she did. Later, he admitted fault for the accident and served time in prison, while Elisa remained unpunished, went on to have George, and eventually reunited with Fred and Lucia.

Later on, Nina shared with Elisa the reason behind stealing Lucia. She confided that she felt her life was ideal, yet tainted by her actions, which made it difficult for her to revert back to that lifestyle.

What happened to Elisa, Nina and Lucia at the end?

With Selma’s assistance, Elisa successfully met up with Nina in France. She retrieved Lucia, but promised to confide in Selma after she had shared everything first.

In the United Kingdom, Elisa was apprehended for the crimes she committed – causing the deaths of Nicholas and Rose in the car accident and tampering with justice. She received a six-year prison sentence, a term that considered the circumstances surrounding her father’s abuse and the emotional turmoil she was experiencing at the time of the crash when deciding on her punishment.

After speaking with Fred, he now had all the information regarding George’s family background. However, it remained uncertain if their relationship could endure following the events that transpired between them.

Fred arranged an outing with Lucia and George, where they discussed revisiting the same location when Elisa is released from prison.

As a film enthusiast, I discovered that Nina had eluded authorities and fled with Josie in the picturesque landscapes of France, and her whereabouts remain unknown to this day.
