The Simpsons and Family Guy Are Getting a Massive Schedule Change in 2025

Beginning in 2025, both “The Simpsons” and “Family Guy” will experience a significant shift in their broadcast schedules as Fox’s Animation Domination block introduces a flood of new premieres starting this February. These iconic animated series, having recently celebrated their respective anniversaries (35 years for “The Simpsons” and 25 years for “Family Guy”), play crucial roles in Fox’s animated programming roster. However, the year 2024 saw some major modifications for “Family Guy,” as it was removed from its regular Sunday time slot during the Fall season and rescheduled for a mid-season airing. There were even plans to air it on an entirely different day when it returned for Season 23.

Initially, it appeared that Fox intended to move Family Guy to air on Wednesdays when Season 23 started in 2025, but their plans have shifted again. During a special preview event with Jerry O’Connell, Fox unveiled their Winter 2025 Animation Domination schedule, and it looks like Family Guy will replace The Simpsons on Sundays in February instead. This is a significant shift for both shows as Family Guy takes over the time slot previously occupied by The Simpsons for the first time in quite some time.

Fox’s Winter 2025 Animation Schedule Revealed

Fox’s upcoming Sunday schedule, unveiled during their preview event, features fresh episodes of “Family Guy” (debuting Season 23), “Grimsburg” (returning for Season 2), “The Great North” (in the middle of airing Season 5), and “Krapopolis” (continuing with Season 2). The exact air times for these shows have yet to be announced, but it’s expected that “Family Guy” will lead off at 8:00PM EST, followed by the other three shows starting shortly after each Sunday evening, beginning in February.

The specific air date for the upcoming special of “Family Guy” hasn’t been disclosed yet, aligning with earlier rumors about its comeback during the midseason premieres. Originally, it was slated to follow “Animal Control,” but recent adjustments seem to have been made to the schedule since the initial announcement. Not having “The Simpsons” or “Bob’s Burgers” on the February roster implies that we’ll have to wait a bit longer than anticipated for new episodes of both shows.

Where to Watch The Simpsons and Family Guy

It turns out we’ll have to wait longer than anticipated for fresh episodes of “The Simpsons” or “Bob’s Burgers”. However, you can still enjoy these classic animated series by streaming them on Hulu. If you’re interested in exploring more of “The Simpsons'” extensive history, all 35 seasons are now available on Disney+. Additionally, a new Christmas special is streaming only on these platforms that you won’t find anywhere else.

Regarding “Family Guy,” its entire collection of episodes can be streamed exclusively on Hulu. Additionally, there are two unique holiday specials (one for Halloween and one for Christmas) available for streaming as well. In fact, fans will have more opportunities than ever before to enjoy “Family Guy” on television in 2025. The show will air not only on networks like Fox, FXX, Freeform, but also make a comeback on Adult Swim with a significant three-night marathon to mark its return.
