View Urgent ForecastOver the years, The Simpsons has come up with numerous fantastic toy concepts and humorous jokes. Among them, Funzo was designed specifically to be the most alluring and superior kids’ toy ever made. A parody of the popular Furby toy, Funzo was hinted at being able to talk, launch missiles from its mouth, and even eliminating its rivals. After many years, Jakks Pacific is finally bringing Funzo to life as a 14-inch doll, which will be available on store shelves later this year. Take a look at the first images of the new Funzo below.
What Is Funzo?
In “The Simpsons” Season 11 Episode “Grift of the Magi,” Springfield Elementary is briefly closed down before being acquired by Kid First Industries. Though it appears the students have returned to normal classes, Lisa uncovers a devious plot: all teachers are utilizing the pupils in developing a new holiday toy! The collective ideas for this toy eventually materialize as Funzo, which features aspects appealing to both male and female children through its interactive functions and plush, snuggly exterior. Simultaneously, it encourages kids to purchase three specific accessories.
In an unexpected turn of events, Funzo became such a nuisance that Homer found himself joining forces with Bart and Lisa in a covert operation to secretly retrieve the Funzos hidden beneath people’s trees. By dusk, they had accomplished their mission as each Funzo had been dismantled, allowing them to celebrate a joyous holiday afterwards. Although Funzo was only featured in an episode outside of the widely-acclaimed “golden era” of The Simpsons, it’s evident that fans would be eager for more encounters with this particular toy.
How to Watch The Simpsons Season 36
On Sunday, March 30th at 8:00PM EST, The Simpsons is set to return for fresh episodes as Season 36 continues on Fox’s Animation Domination block. The upcoming episode, titled “The Flandshees of Innersimpson,” will be the 12th in the season and will feature guest appearances by Jane Kaczmarek and Rachel Bloom. Previews hint at a storyline where Bart tries his hand at celebrity DJ-ing, while Homer’s relationship with Flanders reaches its breaking point.
As of now, we don’t know if “The Simpsons” will continue for Season 37, but there’s a strong possibility it will be renewed, along with other animated comedies. Interestingly, the voice actors have hinted that they are already working on Episode 800, which is quite a ways off from where we are now in the series. This suggests that the show’s production is definitely moving ahead. Additionally, a new Funzo toy is set to arrive this year, making it an exciting time for “The Simpsons” fans!
