For over three decades now, “The Simpsons” has been one of the longest-running adult animated sitcoms on television. One key player in this long-standing series is gearing up fans for another significant milestone by hinting at the upcoming 800th episode. Last year, “The Simpsons” marked its 35th anniversary with a new holiday special that was exclusively available on Disney+. This double-length episode served as a significant transition point for the franchise as it moves into a fresh chapter. The creative team continues to be busy, and soon audiences will witness this iconic series reaching the impressive milestone of 800 episodes.
The 800th episode of the popular TV show “The Simpsons” has begun filming, according to a hint dropped by Lisa Simpson’s voice actress, Yeardley Smith, on social media. She shared a photo of the script, hinting that the cast is currently rehearsing for the episode. This is our first glimpse at this unprecedented achievement, as “The Simpsons” moves forward with Season 36 and prepares to air new episodes in the upcoming months. As fans eagerly await the premiere of this historic episode, they will be getting closer to witnessing this significant milestone.
Today, we’re diving into episode number 800! Of the numerous Simpsons episodes (approximately 700), which one do you consider your absolute favorite?

When Does The Simpsons 800th Episode Come Out?
As a die-hard Simpsons fan, I’m eagerly waiting for Episode 800, but there’s no solid release date yet. It’s unclear when it will air, as it seems it won’t be part of the current Season 36 episodes wrapping up on March 30th. Given that we only had Episode 781 last season, this could just be a hint at more episodes to come. It’s not unexpected for The Simpsons to continue beyond Season 36, but as of now, no new season has been officially announced. I can hardly contain my excitement for the future of Springfield!
The Simpsons isn’t planning to conclude anytime soon, and the approaching 800th episode serves as a testament to its enduring popularity. In fact, discussions about the series finale have been more of a joke than a serious consideration, as those involved in the show itself don’t seem to be eager to bring it to an end – at least not before reaching the 800-episode milestone. Once that benchmark is achieved, hitting the 1,000th episode won’t be far behind.
What’s Next for The Simpsons?
As I look forward, I can’t help but notice that the world of Springfield will be coming back to life once again! The second half of Season 36 of “The Simpsons” is set to air starting Sunday, March 30th, as we near the end of FOX’s midseason schedule for Winter 2025. The first part of this season spanned 11 episodes, but the exact number of episodes left before it concludes remains unknown. Recently, the series has been pushing boundaries and trying new things, so there are plenty of fresh “The Simpsons” adventures to catch up on if you’ve been feeling a bit Springfield-starved!
You have an opportunity to revisit all 35 timeless seasons of “The Simpsons” on Disney+, which is currently streaming. In addition to these classic episodes, you’ll also find two exclusive specials that are only available there. The first one is a festive holiday special titled “O’ Come On All Ye Faithful,” centered around Ned Flanders. The second one, named “The Past and the Furious,” offers an innovative origin story for Mr. Burns. Although some voice actors may change in the future, “The Simpsons” continues to generate engaging stories for years to come.
