In the sneak peek for season 2, a fresh narrative unrelated to the initial story featuring Sheridan Smith is presented. Here, we meet Dani, portrayed by Kara Tointon, who is a teacher and finds herself involved in an affair with a fellow educator during a school excursion.

In the midst of her affair, Dani overlooks the moment a child under her supervision vanishes, ultimately resulting in a sad and unfortunate outcome.

In addition to Tointon, Will Mellor (known for his roles in Mr Bates vs The Post Office and Kin), Emmett J Scanlan (familiar as Kin’s character), Joni Morris, Forrest Bothwell, Cal O’Driscoll, Ebby O’Toole-Acheampong, Lila Coleman, Gwynne McElveen, and Niamh McCann are also part of the cast.

In the debut season of “The Teacher,” where Smith portrayed Jenna Garvey, a character facing accusations of inappropriate relationships with a 15-year-old student, was the most-watched new drama on My5, amassing a total of 6.3 million streams.

Initially announcing the new season, Sebastian Cardwell, acting as UK deputy head of content for Paramount, expressed in a statement: “This represents another thrilling and captivating tale derived from ‘The Teacher’, which proved to be a massive hit for our channel.”

“Our cast is exceptionally skilled, and I’m eagerly anticipating seeing them breathe life into this tale.”
