As a lifelong fan who’s seen “The Terminator” more times than I can count, it feels like I’ve grown up with this iconic movie. The 40th anniversary is a significant milestone, and the new Blu-rays are a delightful treat for us fans. The Steelbook edition with its fantastic cover art is a must-have addition to any collection!

This year marks the 40th anniversary of James Cameron’s groundbreaking 1984 action film, The Terminator, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and to celebrate, new Blu-ray versions are being released. Coincidentally, the debut of the Terminator: Zero anime on Netflix this week might also be related to the timing. Pre-orders for both a standard 4K Blu-ray and a Limited Edition Steelbook 4K Blu-ray have started, with the latter featuring some exceptional cover art.

As I type this, I’m thrilled to share that the Steelbook edition is up for pre-order on GRUV and Amazon, though it seems Amazon’s listing shows “unavailable” status currently. Be sure to check Walmart for their listings soon. Meanwhile, you can also pre-order the standard 4K Blu-ray on Amazon. Regrettably, we don’t have details about specifications, special features, or a release date yet, but rest assured, I’ll keep this post updated as more information becomes available.

To mark The Terminator’s 40th anniversary, Humble Bundle has released a comic book bundle as a tribute. This collection offers up to 12 digital comics from Dynamite at a price of $18 or less. Among the comics included are “The Terminator: Hunters And Killers” and “The Terminator: Suicide Run.” A portion of the earnings will be donated to the Comic Book Defense Fund charity. Hurry and take advantage of this Humble Bundle offer while it’s still available!

What’s Terminator Zero About?

Interested in learning more about “Terminator Zero”? Before it premieres on Netflix on August 29, you can check out the show’s official synopsis: In the ’90s Japan, Malcolm Lee is creating a new AI system meant to rival Skynet. With Judgment Day looming in 1997, Lee and his three children find themselves targeted by an unidentified robot killer. A soldier from the future, dispatched in 2022, arrives to safeguard him.

Terminator’s Iconic “I’ll Be Back” Line

In a recently released Netflix documentary featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger, it was disclosed that both the actor and James Cameron held contrasting views regarding the dialogue for the Terminator’s iconic scene. It appears that Schwarzenegger found the original script unappealing.

“Just say ‘I’ll be back.’ Keep it straightforward.”

Later on, Schwarzenegger pointed out that the phrase “I’ll be back” might not fit his character since he’s a robot. Instead, he thought it was more fitting for the character and robot-like to say “I will be back.”

In response, Schwarzenegger asked, “Are you the author?” To which I replied, “I am not.” He then retorted, “Then don’t instruct me on how to compose writing.”

Indeed, Cameron’s assertion holds true, since that particular dialogue has become one of the most frequently referenced phrases from movies throughout cinematic history.
