The Texas Chain Saw Massacre Winds Down Support, Won’t Receive Any More DLC

Approximately two years since its release, Gun Interactive has declared that further updates or additions to their game “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” will not be forthcoming. In a recent post on Steam, the publisher expressed their sense of pride in the game and believes it has achieved its maximum potential.

This month, the final update for the terrifying asymmetrical multiplayer game is being released. Future updates are planned to concentrate on switching to peer-to-peer matchmaking, and the publisher assures that the game will continue to function. Additionally, it won’t be removed from online marketplaces.

Further developments, such as additional content, bug fixes, or balance adjustments, are not imminent. Regarding future updates, Gun Interactive only hinted to “STAY TUNED” in capital letters.

The horror game “The Texas Chain Saw Massacre” is now playable on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and personal computers. This game is inspired by the original 1974 film and allows players to switch roles, with one group portraying the Slaughter family who are on a hunt for teenage Survivors, while the other team takes on the role of these terrified Survivors. As of March 2024, it has been played by more than 5.6 million people. To read our review of the initial release version, click here.
