Today marks the launch of Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered, available on both PS5 and PS4. These updated versions bring back The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and even The Angel of Darkness, now boasting modern visuals and upgrades. At first glance, it seems like another fantastic collection. However, for those considering a purchase on PS5, be aware that the trophy list has some messy aspects, an issue that was also present in the remasters of the initial three games.
Last year when Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered arrived on PS5, we pointed out that the Trophy list held nearly 300 awards to gather. However, accumulating all of them wouldn’t earn a Platinum Trophy. Instead, it only had one overall list without separate entries for individual games like Tomb Raider 2 or Tomb Raider 3 on your PS5 profile.
On PS4, each game had its unique Trophy list and Platinum Trophy, making individual lists more diverse. However, on PS5, when dealing with bundled game collections, all content within a single release is grouped together instead of being scattered across various apps on your Profile page, which may give the impression that the PS5 list is less comprehensive compared to PS4.
With the release date for Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered now upon us, Exophase has disclosed a list of 169 Trophies that indicates the problem has been reproduced for PS5 buyers. Fortunately, there is one positive change: there indeed is a Platinum Trophy this time. Unfortunately, it doesn’t encompass the entire list; you’ll earn it by gathering all the Trophies from Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. The lists for Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness are then added as DLC Trophy lists, meaning they contribute to the overall 100% completion stat but not the Platinum Trophy for the entire collection.
As a gamer, I’m thrilled to see the PS4 trophy lists for my favorite games are now active! Each game offers a separate Platinum Trophy, which is great news for me as I love the challenge they bring. However, I have to admit that I find the implementation of these trophies on the PS5 a bit clumsy and confusing, leaving me with the feeling that it might never get fixed.
