In its third season, The Traitors continues to be a widely discussed TV show, yet there’s been a significant drop in enthusiasm among viewers due to confusion over the series’ unfolding events.
Thus far, this version of the program has been marked by mysterious expulsions, heated disagreements, a palpable tension, and a participant whose deceit seems to be etched permanently on her.
Although these traits are hard to forget, they’re problematic due to the exaggerated wickedness portrayed by Paul and the repeated famous quotes from Diane that now evoke more annoyance than amusement.
The distinctive features are etched in our minds, but for unfavorable reasons. For instance, Paul’s over-the-top villainy and Diane’s frequently quoted lines have been replaced by a growing feeling of irritation.
It’s unfortunate to mention, but the predicament, from my perspective, boils down to the actors in The Traitors season 3. They’re intriguing individuals, no doubt, but they’ve over-prepared for the show, which is causing one significant issue: they know the series too well.
Consequently, members of this group (particularly the Faithful), are behaving less like competitors and more like directors in a television show, allowing the happenings from the last two seasons and unusual ideas regarding what constitutes good television to guide their disorganized strategies for the game.
Let’s start by examining the two individuals, Freddie and Kasim, who have endured what seems to be the harshest witch hunts in season 3 up until now.
In simpler terms, his reputation seems to be tarnished by the lingering impact of Season 2, as some doubt towards him is fueled – in part – by the surprising poor performance of Harry, a charismatic young character whose misjudged talent came at a high cost for the players.
During an after-performance chat on The Traitors: Unveiled, competitor Livi, known for her heated allegations against Freddie, also hinted at Harry as a contributing element to her unwavering suspicion, thus emphasizing his lasting influence on the fortress.
A less obvious parallel can be drawn between Kas and Paul (hear me out).

Despite the fact that Paul appeared as a Traitor and relished his role as our antagonist, it’s important to remember that he managed to stay in the game for so long because he was widely respected and liked by the cast of The Traitors season 2, right up until his departure from the castle.
Is it possible that this is the cause for the group from this year being particularly quick to brand another person with the title ‘Traitor’, especially since they were known as friendly and had a beard? It’s hard to say for sure, but it seems like the only plausible explanation available.
It’s hard to believe that the group’s unusual idea that Kas being a kind physician makes him a likely traitor is incomprehensible – and it shows how the Season 3 characters are attempting to outmaneuver the show creators, instead of playing the game as intended.
In this season’s installment, a recurring theme I’ve noticed is the constant speculation that someone “could be the Mole,” as the contestants seem to overlook questionable actions, such as Linda’s suspicious behavior, instead focusing on envisioning themselves in the role of the decision-maker.
In simpler terms, Elen’s initial idea about a powerful female traitor might have been influenced by the predominantly male cast in season 2. However, the collective success of the larger group should primarily be attributed to logical reasoning rather than observations on behavioral patterns.
It seems that Armani’s bold personality sparked some controversy, yet a significant reason behind her removal may have been due to speculation that she or her sister, Maia, might have been picked by the production team for added drama in the show.
Cool. Good job, I guess?
That victory lacked the thrill because it seemed like it was given rather than achieved; Armani’s triumph turned out to be largely fortuitous following Maia’s revelation of uncertainty, which led their supporters to choose a sibling and cross their fingers for success.
Instead of meticulously observing his rivals for several days last year, building up a largely accurate understanding of the situation, Jaz displayed an admirable level of patience and methodical approach in his gameplay.
Oh dear, if the 2025 line-up continues to expel team members based on interrogation tactics reminiscent of Mindhunter towards the show’s creators, there’s a significant chance they might destroy the entire project – that is, if they weren’t so inept at it.
At its best, it’s sparked some peculiar and annoying group attacks during this season that seem unrelated to any substantial proof. At its worst, it’s eroding the quality of the show, making it more hostile and less enjoyable.
Discussions at our roundtables can often become intense, especially as the end of each season approaches. However, the level of distress we’ve seen in the castle this year is something unusual and uncomfortable for me to witness.
Previously, Dan had stated that what we’re dealing with here is essentially a playful endeavor, although it does come with substantial rewards at stake.
It’s been no pleasure to witness Kas feeling socially ostracized due to the mistaken suspicions within the group, nor to see 20-year-old Freddie needing to fend off four obviously hostile individuals who are not part of a clique. (This version maintains the original meaning while using more natural and conversational language.)
It’s a noticeable change for the better: The Betrayers should steer clear of heated discussions that have marred less engaging programs such as I’m A Celebrity and Big Brother in the past.
The most disheartening aspect is that competitors attacking each other on matters irrelevant to the main game mechanics hasn’t worked out; instead, it’s led to a decrease in their shared prize money, with two deceptive players yet to be caught – one of them being particularly obvious.
Or more casually:
It’s really sad that the contestants keep fighting over things not related to the game itself, and it’s only hurting their chances of winning the pot. Two traitors are still on the loose too, including one who’s pretty much waving a flag saying “I’m a Traitor!
It’s quite possible that one factor contributing to Linda’s longevity on the show (despite facing elimination discussions) is that she’s the oldest Traitor the UK version of the program has ever seen.
The emphasis placed by the group on tradition and sensational choices in casting may account for why the former opera singer, whose guilt seems overwhelmingly strong, hasn’t tipped the scale definitively yet. In this version, I’ve attempted to simplify the language while retaining the original meaning.
Indeed, while seasons 3 does offer some enjoyment primarily from characters like Linda and Minah, it’s undeniable that this season feels lackluster. Addressing this issue is crucial for ensuring the series maintains its longevity in the future.
It appears that participants who deeply identify with “The Traitors” series may be so engrossed in their previous narratives and the excitement of appearing on the program that they struggle to play the game effectively.
To provide a more diverse experience for its vast viewer base, The Traitors season 4 could strive to cast participants who aren’t already well-versed in the show, or at least, aren’t overly fond of it.
In other words, they might be able to set aside their roles as producers and put down their historical texts, focusing instead on the obvious hints that are within their reach.
