The last installment of The Umbrella Academy’s four-season run can now be streamed on Netflix, but it’s come with a bit of a stir, mainly focusing on a significant scene or sequence.

In episode 5, there’s a significant instance where Lila and Five find themselves trapped at a junction between time periods, and surprisingly develop romantic feelings for each other, although it’s important to note that Lila is wedded to Five’s brother, Diego.

He mentioned that he had a conversation with some writers where they pondered over this scenario: “Suppose you were with someone for seven years, and there came a time when we both felt resigned to the idea of never returning home again?”

“I mean, some of it speaks to the domestic problems between Lila and Diego. And part of it has to do with that, as much as Five and Lila would hate to say it, they’re very similar.”

Blackman went on to say: “They’ve been battling fiercely throughout all the seasons, but eventually, they discovered they share many commonalities. They are remarkably similar individuals. Therefore, I can’t help but ponder how fans will react to that instance. However, I believe it is a moment well-deserved.”

“But remember, it’s not a few days, we’ve been together now trying to stay alive for seven years. And I thought it was a great moment.”

In addition, Aidan Gallagher, who is rated five stars, commented: “Initially, I was completely taken aback. You see, the characters often appear to be at odds, so this connection felt quite surprising.”

However, at a particular moment, it seemed to switch, much like a magnet. I found myself thinking, ‘Ah, that explanation fits perfectly with their character traits.’
