David Zabel, the showrunner, shared with The Hollywood Reporter that for season 3 of Daryl Dixon set in London and Spain, “the characters should not find a permanent residence. Instead, it will be a traveling performance.” He added, “At the end of season two, they’re headed somewhere, even though we don’t know exactly where it is yet, and it’s not a straight path to their next destination. The aim is to keep the characters constantly working towards returning home and on the move.
Following two seasons set in France, Zabel expressed his enthusiasm about delving into various cultures through the lens of a zombie apocalypse: “That’s going to be incredibly thrilling as we reinvent the series! It felt like we were meant to journey onward and reach new destinations. In seasons five and six, we might find ourselves in a completely different location. We’ll keep traveling until we return home!
