The White Lotus

This article contains major spoilers for episode six of The White Lotus.

Just when it felt like The White Lotus may have gone too far, Mike White took it even further.

In the fifth episode of the series, brothers Saxon and Lochlan, portrayed by Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sam Nivola respectively, shared a kiss. The March 23rd episode, titled “Denials”, then depicted these characters sleeping with Charlotte Le Bon’s character, Chloe.

During the drug-and-alcohol-induced night that Saxon can only vaguely remember, his memories consist of blurry images of Lochlan and Chloe engaging in sexual acts near him in bed, as well as them forcing him to kiss—which Saxon claims was initiated by both Chloe and Chelsea (Aimee Lou Wood). However, when Chloe says to him, “I didn’t make him touch you,” his entire world is shaken.

Additionally, despite Saxon himself not remembering that specific detail – he seemed to recall pulling himself away – this fact is corroborated when Lochlan recounts the incident during a moment of meditation with his sister Piper (Sarah Catherine Hook) in the Buddhist monastery.

It was a shocking moment—something both actors are well aware of.

In response to the contentious incidents, Patrick opted to portray his character’s reaction through a series of pictures that depicted growing unease and sickness the day following the Full Moon Party.

He cheekily captioned the post, “A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words.”

Deepening the sense of unease even more, the official Instagram account of The White Lotus responded to the 31-year-old’s post with, “Certain experiences will stay with you long after you’ve moved on.

It appears that Patrick wasn’t aware of the plot details when he was cast for the role. As he shared with Entertainment Weekly, “We hadn’t been given the script,” he said, “so we didn’t fully understand what we were signing up for.

He elaborated, “Our concept initially was ‘The White Lotus,’ and let me tell you, it’s going to be something extraordinary. As I delved into the scripts, my anticipation grew. When I reached episodes 5 and 6, it became evident that this was not just wild, but utterly mind-blowing.

He has complete confidence in Mike White’s abilities as a writer, considering his impressive track record on previous seasons and projects. As Patrick put it, “Mike assured me that everything will turn out wonderfully.” He also mentioned that this will spark intriguing discussions.

Meanwhile Sam shared his own interpretation of the events between Lochlan and his older brother.

In an interview with Variety regarding the sixth episode, he explained, “I believe it stems from a feeling of insecurity. He admires both his siblings, not romantically but more out of curiosity and a desire to understand who he will become. He attempts to relate to him in any way possible.

The Perfect Couple actor also addressed that moment.

“Looking at Saxon while he’s jerking off is not a sexual thing,” Sam added. “It’s more that he’s studying him: ‘Who is this guy? How can I get him to like me? How can I become more like him?’”

After he stated that Saxon’s main purpose in life is to earn money and find romantic encounters, Lochlan clarified his actions on the boat were a misguided attempt to emulate Saxon’s “sex guy” persona. He tried to engage in something related to that sphere and connect in some way. It was a significant and unsuccessful attempt.

But for the 21-year-old, it’s important his character isn’t totally misinterpreted.

He’s not necessarily a creep,” he clarified. “Rather, I believe Lochlan is extremely misled and his situation has led him astray. However, I don’t see him as evil or intentionally harmful in any sense. It’s crucial for the story that he’s more misunderstood than malicious.

On the TV show “The White Lotus,” Jason Isaacs’ character Timothy Ratliff is wed to Parker Posey’s Victoria Ratliff. However, in real life, Emma Hewitt is his actual wife.

In 2020’s The Big Issue, he expressed that without her, there is no version of him that he recognizes or wishes to acquaint himself with.

In the ’80s, Jason encountered a former documentary filmmaker at the University of London’s Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. At that time, he was deeply engrossed in a long-term relationship with drugs, as he himself referred to it. This relationship ended in 1998 when he achieved sobriety.

After I became sober, my wife expressed relief, saying something like, “Now, at long last, we can finally purchase a house and start a family,” Jason explained. He continued, “I replied, not quite so fast, dear. You see, I’ve only just met you. What are you suggesting?” She responded, “We’ve been together for a decade!” I acknowledged, “Yes, I know that, and I apologize, but it feels like I’ve just been reborn. We need to spend time getting to know each other again.

Later, when he wondered aloud why she would associate with someone who seemed mentally unwell constantly, she replied, “She appreciated the real me and the potential of who I truly could become.

The couple wed in 2001 and welcomed daughters Lily and Ruby.

In 2008, Jason shared with The Guardian that she made the choice to leave her thriving profession behind, to accompany me, reside in remote locations without much purpose, and not fully integrate into the group. Her aim was to conceive a child. After some time, we underwent In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), which was successful on both occasions for us.

Many viewers have noticed Patrick Schwarzenegger quite frequently on The White Lotus, yet for a full decade, he has been opening up deeply to his fiancée Abby Champion.

In an interview with The Daily Front Row nine years ago, Abby reminisced about her chance encounter with Patrick, who portrays Ratliff’s son Saxon on HBO’s series. This occurred through a mutual friend, whom Abby was out with, and surprisingly, Patrick also knew. We owe this friend a debt of gratitude for introducing us, as it eventually led to our engagement.

Although they haven’t tied the knot yet, Patrick proposed to Abby on the beach in December 2023, sharing the news with GQ last September. They have been planning their 2025 wedding since then.

According to reports, the eldest son of former couple Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver stated that his role is simply to ensure her happiness and support whatever she desires. He’s content to offer advice when needed but mainly focuses on providing her with a wonderful day as she prefers. In essence, he sees his primary task as making her happy.

For the moment, they are content with their status quo, each being number one fans for the other. On Abby’s birthday in February, Patrick wrote an Instagram tribute expressing pride in her and admiring her dedication to family, friends, faith, and work. He found it a blessing to be on this journey with her and looked forward to seeing where life would take them.

How did Sam Nivola and Iris Apatow meet? Contrary to what he humorously suggested to British Vogue about a secret society of nepotism children, it wasn’t through their parents, who are actors Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, respectively, Leslie Mann and Judd Apatow. Instead, a mutual friend, Isa Barrett, was the one who brought them together at a London bar. According to Sam (who plays Lochlan on The White Lotus), he attempted to express his interest in Iris (from The Perfect Couple) when they first met, but she wasn’t single at the time and turned him down. However, after her relationship ended, Sam reached out again, and they began dating in the spring of 2024. They have since moved in together, with Sam expressing his love for Iris and confidence that living together wouldn’t become monotonous due to their deep affection for each other.

Leslie Bibb’s romance with Sam Rockwell didn’t begin at the White Lotus in Thailand, but rather in the lobby of Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. As she reminisced on The Rosie Show, she was about to dine with some friends when someone waved at her from behind. Turning around, she found it was him. He was walking towards her as he was staying there for his role in Frost/Nixon.

Their chemistry was immediate. “He smiled at me and I thought, ‘Oh no, what’s that?'” she said. “Sometimes you just get struck.”

Leslie and Sam went on their first date about a week later. Although the Talladega Nights alum attempted to feign disinterest in a serious relationship with the Oscar winner, her true feelings couldn’t be concealed. “I was like, ‘I’m really not into anything,'” she added, “and then I think three weeks later, I was like, ‘I love you so much.'”

Fast-forward to today, and this unmarried couple is still going strong. For their anniversary in October 2023, Leslie wrote on Instagram: “Sweet sixteen sammy…was this from the first year, maybe the second, who knows we were babies and all the time is flying by and blurring into one helluva a ride with you…I feel very lucky to get to love this human and even luckier to be loved by him.

During conversations on the set of The White Lotus, Jaclyn Lemon often speaks about her friends in a less than flattering manner. In stark contrast, Michelle Monaghan consistently praises her spouse, Pete White. Their bond was particularly evident when they navigated the professional challenges together, such as the steamy scene Michelle shared with Tom Cruise for Mission: Impossible III, filmed shortly after their 2005 wedding.

In an interview with Collider in 2023, Michelle recounted, “I had just gotten married and skipped my honeymoon to start the film right away. Then I remember going to work, and Tom and I had an intimate scene, which was the first scene. Afterwards, I came home, feeling quite nervous, and my husband reassured me, saying, ‘Don’t worry, you’ll follow his lead. You’re going to have a great time. It’s going to be wonderful.'”

Pete’s encouragement proved invaluable as the scene turned out well, prompting him to remark, “How cool is it that you were making out with Tom Cruise on our honeymoon?” Being fans themselves, they shared in the excitement of the moment.

As Michelle pointed out, Pete has consistently been supportive and enthusiastic about her career endeavors. Together, they have faced life’s challenges, including parenthood to children Willow and Tommy. In an interview with Lifeminute in 2017, she shared, “My husband and I check in with each other weekly on Sundays, asking about our priorities for the week and how we can support one another in achieving our goals.

Despite Carrie Coon’s character Laurie traveling to Thailand with friends on The White Lotus, her real-life best friend is her husband Tracy Letts. The two met in 2010 while working on Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, with Tracy winning a Tony Award for his role as George and Carrie being nominated for hers as Honey. They got married in an unplanned hospital ceremony due to Carrie’s emergency gallbladder surgery three years later. In 2018, they had a son named Haskell, and their daughter was born in 2021 without disclosing her name publicly. The couple remains strong together, debunking rumors of an open marriage after Carrie clarified that she meant ‘open-minded’ not ‘open’.

Walton Goggins credits a friend for setting up his introduction to his wife, Nadia Conners. According to an account he shared on The View, this happened in 2005 when his friend heard the director talking with friends at a Los Angeles restaurant. The friend urged Nadia to attend a dinner the following night to meet Walton. At the time, Walton was attending the dinner to raise funds for a movie and thought Nadia was one of the business associates.

During the dinner, instead of engaging with those he was supposed to talk to, Walton found himself captivated by Nadia’s conversation. She turned her back to everyone at the table and asked him about himself. They spent the entire dinner sharing their stories.

At the end of the night, when Walton took Nadia home, she asked him to ask for her number. He did as she requested and they eventually got married in 2011, welcoming their son Augustus the same year. In a February Instagram post, Walton expressed his deep love for his family, including his wife, who he plays opposite Aimee Lou Wood’s Chelsea on The White Lotus.

Apologies, Gaitok! It seems that Tayme Thapthimthong’s character may have feelings for Mook on The White Lotus, but it appears that Blackpink member Lisa is already in a relationship with businessman Frédéric Arnault.

Although they haven’t confirmed the romance rumors, there have been signs of a relationship for some time. In late 2022, Frédéric shared photos from attending a Blackpink concert, and since then, people have noticed them spending time together and traveling. While he has attended several of her shows and premieres, she was present at the 2024 TAG Heuer Formula 1 Kith Launch Celebration.

For those paying attention, in her song “Moonlit Floor (Kiss Me),” Lisa sings about a “green-eyed French boy who has me spinning.

Arnas Fedaravicius’ character Valentin might be single in the storyline, but in real life, he seems to have a special connection with Emeraude Toubia.

Over a year since her divorce from Prince Royce was announced in March 2022, Emeraude and Arnas appeared to confirm their relationship on Instagram in 2023.

While they’ve been fairly private about their romance, the odd Instagram post and a shared trip to Thailand for a show filming are hints of their blossoming relationship.

In January, Emeraude praised Arnas on Instagram saying, “From one amazing moment to the next! So proud of you, @arnasfederman! Thank you for bringing me along on this unforgettable ride.

After your check-in at the White Lotus, it’s likely that Pam will ask to borrow your phone. However, Morgana O’Reilly, who portrays Pam, didn’t mind using her own device to share this charming photo of herself and her husband, Peter Salmon, on social media.

Although they both graduated from Unitec in New Zealand, Morgana and Peter first met in New York City. As they were both in the same industry and had many mutual friends, it was surprising that they hadn’t crossed paths before despite their similar backgrounds. They later got married and became parents to Luna and Ziggy. However, their family isn’t their only collaboration. In 2020, Morgana and Peter collaborated on the series “Inside,” and more recently, they transformed her stage show “Stories About My Body” into a movie.

Morgana shared on Instagram in August that she and Peter had made a film about their love story and the birth of their children (among other tales). She expressed her admiration for her husband’s talent, stating that the creation of this art piece had left her in awe of him once again.

On-screen, Jon Gries’ character Greg Hunt (known as Gary in season three) was wedded to Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya McQuoid until her character passed away in season two (Rest In Peace). Off-camera, the actor has very recently gotten married.

In a video for Harper’s Bazaar published on March 4, Jon shared that his fiancée, whom he did not name, is now his wife as of last Friday. It seems one of the last things he searched online might have been directions to their courthouse wedding.

Perhaps avoid honeymooning at The White Lotus resort.
