Warning: This story contains spoilers for the season three finale of The White Lotus.
It’s time to check out of The White Lotus.
On April 6th, the final episode of season three aired on HBO Max, shedding light on the ultimate destiny of all the affluent travelers in Thailand.
In the final episode, viewers witnessed the events of the hotel shooting that had been hinted at in the premiere. During this chaos, Nicholas Duvernay’s character Zion, Belinda’s son portrayed by Natasha Rothwell, frantically escaped for his life. Regrettably, it was Rick, played by Walton Goggins, and Chelsea, acted by Aimee Lou Wood, who lost their lives in the intense climax.
In a dramatic turn of events, the couple met their end during a fiery gunfight between Rick and Sritala’s bodyguards, following Rick’s fatal shot on her husband, Jim Hollinger – a shocking revelation that later uncovered Jim as Rick’s own father.
Regarding the one who delivered the fatal shot, it was Tayme Thapthimthong (Gaitok) who momentarily abandoned his tranquil lifestyle to comply with Sritala’s desires, ultimately shooting Rick from behind.
Regarding the other characters, unfortunately, the Ratliffs didn’t have a joyful conclusion. The monetary troubles of the family patriarch, Timothy (played by Jason Isaacs), escalated significantly during their tropical getaway, as he appeared to be considering taking his own life throughout the trip.
Additionally, the family’s Southern household wasn’t just dealing with legal problems; this season also saw a controversial three-way encounter involving brothers Saxon and Lochlan, played by Patrick Schwarzenegger and Sam Nivola respectively, along with Chloe (Charlotte Le Bon), which took place on a yacht. This incident stirred up quite a scandal earlier in the season.
At the climax, it appears that the family’s problems escalate dramatically as Timothy offers a deadly piña colada to his wife, eldest son, and daughter, leaving out Lochlan. However, he experiences a sudden change of heart and discards the drinks from their hands just in time. The next morning, disaster nearly befalls them again when Lochlan unknowingly prepares a smoothie using the leftover poisonous seeds; luckily, Timothy manages to revive him after finding him unconscious.
In addition, spectators learned about another crime that disturbed the resort. While Gaitok managed to crack the case, he chose to conceal the thieves’ identities upon request from Valentin (Arnas Fedaravicius). Valentin appealed to Gaitok’s compassion and pointed out that he and his companions would be sent back home if they were exposed.
As a dedicated admirer, I must say that the threesome of buddies, portrayed by Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, and Michelle Monaghan, left me spellbound even after witnessing the dramatic shootout. Their journey’s end, however, was tinged with emotion when Carrie’s character, Laurie, shared a heartfelt confession. This poignant moment served as a reminder that their shared past is what binds them together most profoundly.
Surprisingly, even some of the cast members were in the dark before the shocking final episode.
Schwarzenegger expressed his eagerness to see the finale along with everyone else worldwide since he’s in the dark about what will happen,” Schwarzenegger said to The Hollywood Reporter, as reported in their April 2 cover story. Meanwhile, his on-screen mother, Parker Posey, confessed, “I can’t remember who passed away. It was incredibly tense when I read it. I sped through the grim parts.
Concerning the stars that recalled every minute detail, they were aware that this conclusion would surprise everyone.
Jon Gries, who was the sole cast member present throughout all three seasons, remarked, ‘Even if you believe you understand it, you’ll likely still make a mistake.’
For creator Mike White, he wanted his hour-and-a-half finale to be truly epic.
In an interview with THR, he expressed his amazement at the film he created, saying something along the lines of, “I can hardly believe I made this!” His aspiration is for viewers to experience a mix of intense emotions, not shock, but rather a sense of catharsis or satisfaction tinged with sadness. However, he acknowledges that people will have diverse opinions about it, and all one can do is aim for a successful conclusion.
For enthusiasts of “The White Lotus”, it might not take long until we see the arrival of season four!
White noted, “HBO is already applying some pressure on us. When they have a project they’re excited about, they want to release it quickly. Originally, we were supposed to start scouting in April, but I said, ‘Guys, I haven’t been home for three years!’

What do you think about that? Originally a member of the K-pop group Blackpink, famously known as Lisa, transitioned from ruling global stages to assuming the role of Mook in the White Lotus staff uniform for her first acting gig. Her fellow band members are Jisoo, Jennie, and Rosé.
It seems like, in an unexpected twist of fate, Lucius Malfoy, the character I’ve always admired, has apparently missed his Hogwarts Express and found himself at The White Lotus resort instead! And guess what? The man who once commanded fear with his silver hair is back on our screens, this time portraying Timothy Ratliff – a wealthy businessman, just like Malfoy, taking a vacation with his family.
I, a dedicated follower, have recently graced the screens on shows such as Robot Chicken, The Great, and Sex Education. Notably, I was also seen alongside my White Lotus co-star, Aimee Lou Wood, on some of these productions.
When you spot it, she might seem familiar. That’s because Elizabeth Posey, the actress portraying Timothy’s wife Victoria Ratliff, has appeared in films such as “Superman Returns,” “Blade: Trinity,” “Scream 3” and “Dazed and Confused.” Additionally, she’s had brief appearances on TV shows like “Parks and Recreation,” “New Girl,” “Portlandia,” and “Search Party.
However, diehard romantic comedy enthusiasts would recognize her as Patricia Eden, Tom Hanks’ girlfriend in the 1998 beloved film “You’ve Got Mail,” where she portrayed the role.
Apart from being recognized as the son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, showcasing his talent in family photos, he has previously established a reputation for himself through acting roles in “Gen V”, “The Terminal List”, and “The Staircase”. Later, he landed the role of Saxon Ratliff in season three.
Before slipping into the role of Piper Ratliff, I had already dipped my toes into the chilling waters of horror and magical realms. You might recognize me from my spine-tingling performances as Debbie Glatzel in “The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It”, Juliette Fairmont in “First Kill”, or Elena Milak in “Monsterland”.
Apart from recognizing her as Caroline Merteuil in the 2024 remake of “Cruel Intentions,” you might be familiar with her for her role as Catherine Allday Davis in Ryan Murphy’s cinematic universe, where she portrayed a character involved in the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal depicted in the series “Impeachment: American Crime Story.
In the role of Lochlan, Nivola completes the Ratliff family. Prior to his Thailand adventures, he starred in a series depicting a wealthy beach-going family, titled “The Perfect Couple“. There, he portrayed Will Winbury, son to the characters Greer and Tag Winbury, played by Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber respectively. Interestingly, Nivola shared screen time with Meghann Fahy, a cast member of “White Lotus”, who previously appeared as Daphne Sullivan in season two of HBO’s show, and later played Merritt Monaco on “The Perfect Couple“.
Apart from his roles, Nivola has also appeared in the movies “White Noise” alongside Adam Driver, “Maestro” featuring Bradley Cooper, and “With/In” starring Anne Hathaway.
Absolutely, viewers of “White Lotus” will recall Rothwell from the first season, where she portrayed spa guru Belinda in Maui. Not only is she returning for season three, but this talented actress has also appeared on screens in shows like “Insecure”, “Wonka”, “A Year and Change”, and “Love, Simon”. To add to that, she showcased her comedic skills as a writer for “Saturday Night Live” from 2014 to 2015.
The actress who played Iron Man in the movies has been cast to play Kate in The White Lotus, following her role as Christine Everhart in the Marvel series. She has also recently appeared as Dinah Donahue in Palm Royale and as Grace Kennedy-Sampson in Jupiter’s Legacy.
The star from the Gilded Age, who might also be recognized from The Sinner, Fargo, and The Leftovers, assumes the character of Laurie this season. She teams up with friends Kate and Jaclyn for a ladies’ vacation in Thailand.
In her role as Jaclyn on “The White Lotus,” Monaghan is a TV personality both on-screen and off-, having graced shows like “True Detective,” “Bad Monkey,” “Messiah,” and “The Path.” On the silver screen, she’s shone brightly as Julia in “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” and Angie Genaro in “Gone Baby Gone.
You’ll have a sense of validation because Goggins isn’t just someone you think you recognize; indeed, he has starred in two movies by Quentin Tarantino. Specifically, he played Billy Crash in “Django Unchained” and Sheriff Chris Mannix in “The Hateful Eight”. Furthermore, his fame extends to portraying Boyd Crowder on the TV series “Justified” from 2010 to 2015.
In the third season, a free-spirited character named Chelsea, portrayed by an English actress, will be part of the cast. She shares an age-gap romance with Rick Hatchett, played by Goggins. However, she gained recognition for her role as Aimee Gibbs in Netflix’s ‘Sex Education’, and has also been seen in ‘Seize Them!’ and ‘Daddy Issues’.
Her acting career spans over five decades, with her debut role being Grounded God in 1975. More recently, she played the character of Prani Chiraanan on In Family We Trust in 2018.
With her first acting credit dating back to 1975 in the film Grounded God, she has a long history in the industry. However, her most recent role was that of Prani Chiraanan on In Family We Trust, which aired in 2018.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but admire this multi-talented individual who once served in the military and now graces our screens with his powerful voice. He’s starred in movies like “Mechanic: Resurrection,” “Skin Trade,” and “Paradox,” and he even played Pao on the TV series “Farang.” Simply amazing!
Should the 13-minute span not be sufficient for you to identify the German actor, let me jog your memory. He portrayed Rudolf Höss in “The Zone of Interest”, Reinhold Gräf in “Babylon Berlin”, and Georg Elser in “13 Minutes”.
