The Wives confirms air date for twisty mystery – starring Tamzin Outhwaite, Jo Joyner, Angela Griffin

I am excited to see “The Wives” starting on Channel 5 and My5 on Monday, 16th September at 9pm. The synopsis teases that it will be full of warmth, female friendship, humor, and a huge whodunnit in the middle. With a cast featuring well-known actors like Jo Joyner, Tamzin Outhwaite, and Angela Griffin, I have high expectations for this darkly comic drama. The fact that it is from the mind of Helen Black, who previously worked on prison drama “Time,” makes me even more intrigued. I can’t wait to see how the mystery unfolds and who the culprit will be! Let’s hope it’s not someone closer to home than expected. And, as a bonus, the joke at the end is a nice touch that adds some levity to the otherwise serious topic.

Channel 5 will debut its latest dark comedy “The Wives” starting on Monday, 16th September at 9 PM. The series will air every subsequent night at the same time until Wednesday, 18th September

The story focuses on the characters Jo Joyner, Tamzin Outhwaite, and Angela Griffin, who are referred to as Beth, Sylvia, and Natasha – three sisters-in-law. They work together to unravel a mystery that significantly impacted their family

While vacationing in sunny Malta last year, I unfortunately witnessed the untimely death of my sister-in-law Annabelle (Christine Bottomley). Initially, it was ruled an accident, but a twist of fate unfolded when her widower Charlie (Jamie Bamber) started dating a woman strikingly similar to Annabelle’s younger self, a year later. This development sparked a wave of suspicion within our family

“The summary hints at a plot where deceptions are exposed, clues accumulate, and the female characters collaborate and compete in their pursuit of revealing the truth and apprehending the guilty party.”

However, with dishonest government officials, powerful drug gangs, and common criminals seemingly nearer than anticipated, are they taking on a challenge that exceeds their capabilities?

This past week, I got a sneak peek at a trailer for an upcoming series, and it looks like things are going to heat up between Charlie’s new flame, Jade (Katie Clarkson-Hill), and the Morgan family. From what I saw, it seems like Jade is already rubbing them the wrong way, setting the stage for a storm of drama as the women delve deeper into the mystery that lies ahead

In the drama’s cast, we have Ben Willbond from “Ghosts”, playing Beth’s spouse Frankie; Jonathan Forbes known for “Catastrophe”, taking on the role of Natasha’s husband Sean; Louis Boyer famed in “Shadow and Bone” appearing as Luca Vella, a local entrepreneur; and Ajay Chhabra from “Phoenix Rise”, portraying Vinay Taneja, the consulate official

The series comes from the mind of Helen Black, who previously worked on prison drama Time, with co-star Griffin describing it as “full of warmth, female friendship, humour, with a huge whodunnit in the middle”.

The Wives begins on Channel 5 and My5 on Monday 16th September at 9pm.
