In the latter part of this year, The Amazing World of Gumball will return with a fresh collection of episodes, and one of the key figures involved in this revival has given us a sweet peek into the process of creating The Incredibly Quirky World of Gumball. Originally, The Amazing World of Gumball concluded its run on Cartoon Network about seven years ago. However, it was later confirmed that the series was indeed working on new installments. This announcement, surprisingly, wasn’t just about a new season, but an entirely new series set to premiere on streaming platforms later this year.
In a fresh, exciting development, “The Marvelously Odd Universe of Gumball” continues the story from where the initial series ended, and it introduces two main characters at the heart of the action – Alkaio Thiele stepping into the role of Gumball, and Hero Hunter as Darwin, Gumball’s younger sibling. To mark the premiere of this new series, Hero Hunter, the voice actor for Darwin, shared a sweet glimpse into the making of the teaser on Instagram. Take a peek:
When Does The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball Come Out?
The unique and quirky universe of “Gumball” is slated to debut later this year, though specific release details have not been disclosed at the moment of this writing. Originally created by Ben Bocquelet, he returns for this new iteration as both creator and executive producer for Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. Matt Layzell and Erik Fountain will take on roles as executive producers and series directors, while Xav Clarke is set to compose the music and Joe Sparrow will serve as art director. As a continuation of Season 7 in “The Amazing World of Gumball,” it’s an excellent opportunity for those who missed the original series to join in on the fun!
In the U.S., enthusiasts can exclusively stream “The Strangely Quirky Universe of Gumball” on Hulu or Hulu on Disney+, while internationally it will debut with Cartoon Network. However, details about its premiere on Cartoon Network in the U.S. have yet to be disclosed. But, it’s anticipated that it will stream exclusively for American fans for some time. In the meantime, Hulu is where you can rewatch all six seasons of “The Fascinating World of Gumball.
What’s New for Gumball in Season 7?
In the strange yet captivating realm of “Gumball,” Kinza Syed Khan will join the cast as the voice of Anais, with Alkaio Thiele continuing as Gumball and Hero Hunter lending his talents to Darwin. Meanwhile, Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell are set to reprise their roles as Nicole and Richard, the parents from past seasons. As for the upcoming series, a sneak peek has been revealed by Hulu and Cartoon Network, offering a glimpse into what lies ahead when “The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball” premieres.
Returning to Elmore, a place where normality is laughable and family life is far from typical! Gumball Watterson, our protagonist, constantly finds himself in bizarre predicaments such as fighting an evil fast-food empire, dealing with a sentient AI infatuated with his mom, or preventing Banana Joe from wearing pants. Accompanying him are his siblings Darwin and Anais, along with the rest of the town, on this rollercoaster ride. The show is now even more extraordinary, filled with wilder tales, unexpected turns, and absurd humor that it had to be rechristened!
