The WWE reveals WWE 2K25 during Monday Night RAW’s Netflix debut for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC

On January 7, 2025, the world’s largest wrestling promotion, WWE, broke new ground by broadcasting its premier wrestling show, Monday Night RAW, live on Netflix for the first time. In this historic episode, a promotional video featuring WWE star Roman Reigns and his manager Paul Heyman was aired, announcing the upcoming release of WWE 2K25, a new addition to the WWE 2K video game series.

If you haven’t heard yet, WWE 2K is a series of wrestling video games that started with WWE 2K14 in 2013. With these games, players can choose their favorite WWE characters or design their own unique superstars to engage in exciting, over-the-top matches – both offline and online. By winning battles, they can earn recognition and WWE Championship belts.

Just moments following the unveiling of WWE 2K25, online marketplaces for the game popped up, disclosing that it will be dropping at an undetermined point in time on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam. I’ve got my eyes peeled for more updates!

Details about gameplay for WWE 2K25 are still under wraps, but it’s confirmed that more details will be unveiled on January 28, 2025. As of now, we know that the upcoming Xbox and PC versions of the game will boast ‘revolutionary features’ and an extensive roster featuring legendary WWE personalities.

In the upcoming WWE 2K25 game, it has been verified that Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Damian Priest, Liv Morgan, and Bayley will be among the stars to make an appearance. These characters have been featured in the initial images of WWE 2K25.

2K deactivated the online servers for WWE 2K23 on January 6, 2025, making WWE 2K24 the only active game offering live online multiplayer at present. However, with the upcoming release of WWE 2K25, fans won’t have to wait much longer before they can enjoy multiple games featuring live servers for competitive, high-flying online multiplayer matches.

We are entering a Renaissance period for the WWE

In the 1990s, much like many kids of that era, I spent my childhood years engrossed in WWE (once known as WWF), particularly during its ‘Attitude Era’ which extended up till the mid-2000s. It was during this period that I developed a keen interest in watching iconic wrestlers such as The Undertaker, Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H, Rey Mysterio, the late and great Eddie Guerrero, and several other legendary figures duke it out on RAW, Smackdown, and various pay-per-view events.

Besides us, my family and pals, we’d often while away many hours on the original WWF Smackdown games for the PlayStation One and PlayStation 2. The goal? To find out which one of us was the most skillful as a fictional WWE champion.

In 2024, I resumed my interest in the WWE, and it was during that time when I saw Cody Rhodes triumphantly conclude his story at Wrestlemania 40 against the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. Since then, I’ve been captivated by the action.

Reviving my passion for WWE, I believe it’s high time I step back into the digital wrestling arena, ready to face off against my friends again in pursuit of the WWE Championship in WWE 2K25 when it eventually releases on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC gaming platforms.
