There are 9 free SEGA games to claim on mobile right now

It brings joy to everyone when something is free! And we can’t deny it, that’s the truth. So, hearing that some iconic SEGA games are now available at no cost really made us smile.

Back in the day, I recall an exciting mobile gaming venture called SEGA Forever, which emerged nearly a decade back. It was a fantastic initiative that brought a treasure trove of timeless SEGA games to both iOS and Android platforms.

What we refer to as “classics” are indeed genuine classics. To be more specific, we’re referring to games like Crazy Taxi, Streets of Rage, and undeniably, Sonic the Hedgehog.

In this way, the sentence maintains its original meaning while using a more conversational and clear style.

Although SEGA Forever ceased operation in 2023, only a small number of games from the collection remain accessible online, but for a limited duration.

SEGA is planning to remove the remaining nine games from circulation soon, but until that happens, you have the opportunity to download them for free.

For your convenience, I’ve compiled a list of SEGA games that will no longer be available. Here are the links to their App Store and Google Play Store pages:

[SEGA Game List with Links]
(We hope this makes your gaming experience a bit smoother.)

  • Crazy Taxi Classic (iOS / Android)
  • Golden Axe Classic (iOS / Android)
  • Shining Force Classic (iOS / Android)
  • Sonic CD Classic (iOS / Android)
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II (iOS / Android)
  • Streets of Rage Classic (iOS / Android)
  • Streets of Rage 2 Classic (iOS / Android)
  • Super Monkey Ball: Sekura Ed. (iOS / Android)
  • Virtua Tennis Challenge (iOS / Android)

When you download the games, you’ll encounter a notice informing you that these games will no longer receive support.

Essentially, what this implies is that they will no longer be available for purchase from the store. However, if you’ve already downloaded them, you can continue to play them without any issues.

The reason behind the games being delisted is currently unknown.

As a devoted fan, I find myself pondering that maybe Sega is intentionally moving forward with their contemporary game launches such as the Yakuza series, aiming to establish a bit of separation from their classic titles in an effort to keep things fresh and exciting.

Conversely, since the company plans to revive some beloved titles such as Jet Set Radio, it seems they might be preparing to usher in a fresh epoch for these legendary SEGA games – the truth about this transition could remain uncertain.
