As a seasoned tech enthusiast and someone who values convenience above all else, I can confidently say that the HP OmniStudio X 31.5″ All-in-One PC is a fantastic choice for those seeking an all-rounder PC that ticks all the boxes.
Assembling all necessary components or extras for a good quality desktop system might turn out to be a complex task, leading many individuals to opt for the convenience of an All-In-One (AIO) computer instead.
These machines come with processors, RAM, and storage integrated within their monitors, eliminating the need for a separate tower. Moreover, they boast excellent screens which can be customized to offer optimal viewing angles. Consequently, this design results in a sleek, minimalist computer setup that caters to multiple requirements.
Over the past week, I delved into a detailed examination of the HP OmniStudio X All-in-One system. This model boasts an intelligent Intel CPU and a robust NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU. Here are my findings on this all-in-one device.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Price and specs
Pricing & specifications highlights
- This is a pricey AIO due to its fancy 31.5-inch 4K UHD display and RTX 40-Series GPU.
- There are different configurations to choose from, to help you get the best AIO for your needs.
- The configuration I reviewed has an MSRP of $1,979.99, but there’s also a 27-inch FHD option with a starting $1,479.99 MSRP.
- All of the accessories and cables you need to get started are included with this purchase.
- Price rating: 4/5
All-in-One (AIO) systems can come across as pricey due to their comprehensive nature. They essentially provide all the essential components for a desktop computer setup in a single bundle. This convenience spares you from having to purchase separate items like monitors, PC towers, mice, keyboards, speakers, or webcams since they’re already included in the package.
In simpler terms, the specific HP OmniStudio X model I assessed retails for $1,979.99 at Best Buy. This price is higher than many competitors because it features a larger 31.5-inch 4K screen (most others only go up to 27-inches), along with an advanced Intel Core Ultra AI processor (commonly known as Meteor Lake) and a potent NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics card.
On HP’s official site, you can personalize your OmniStudio X setup, starting at $1,449.99. To reduce costs, consider opting for an integrated Intel Arc graphics card instead of the discrete RTX 4050. If you’re looking to save even more, go for the 27-inch All-in-One (AIO) OmniStudio X model.
Moreover, it’s common to discover that HP and Best Buy reduce the price of this All-In-One (AIO) during sales occasions such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or Prime Day. At present, I noticed the 27″ AIO priced at $659.99 on HP, while the 31.5″ model is available for $1,199.99 on HP as well.
In every case, opting for less expensive options while customizing your All-in-One (AIO) PC can definitely save you money. However, it’s crucial to ensure that the system is capable of handling tasks related to work, school, or personal endeavors you have planned. If you intend to use it for creative software or graphically intensive games, it’s advisable to maintain the RTX 4050 GPU, 32GB RAM, and a minimum storage capacity of 1TB SSD.
Is the HP OmniStudio X an AI PC and a Copilot+ PC?
Because it comes equipped with an AI processor and includes a keyboard that has a Copilot button, this AIO not only meets but also exceeds the criteria for being labeled as an AI PC; it can be referred to as an AI+ Copilot PC. In essence, its CPU incorporates an AI-enhanced NPU (neural processing unit), which allows it to handle some tasks more effectively than a standard PC by taking some of the burden off the CPU and GPU, thereby improving overall efficiency.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″ — What’s in the box?
With the acquisition of the HP OmniStudio X, you’ll receive a monitor, stand, base, USB-C cable, power cable, keyboard, mouse, a handy cable management clip, four AAA batteries, and setup guides (not shown in the image). Essentially, it comes fully equipped for immediate setup and operation of your All-In-One device straight from its packaging.

HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Design and build
Build quality and design highlights
- The OmniStudio X 31.5″ looks very classy and is very sturdy as well.
- Tooless assembly made it easy to get setup in just a few minutes.
- There is a healthy selection of ports to meet your various accessory or other connection needs.
- Having an adjustable stand allows me to find a good viewing angle.
- Design rating: 5/5
It’s no wonder that the OmniStudio X 31.5″ carries a refined design suitable for both professional and domestic environments, given HP’s reputation as a well-known business or enterprise brand. Moreover, its robust construction gives the impression of durability and longevity.
As a researcher, I can attest that the OmniStudio X 31.5″ is among the many All-in-One models available today that doesn’t necessitate any tools for assembly. The process was effortless; all I had to do was rotate the built-in screw on the base to link the stand and base, then push the stand into the rear of the monitor until a click was heard. Afterward, I effortlessly positioned the AIO on my desk and connected the included cables. In summary, setup took me merely five minutes or less.
I love the way the stand can be adjusted vertically, and the monitor can be tilted up and down. It’s stable with absolutely no wobbling and stays exactly where I leave the display so I can get the best viewing experience possible. Now, it’s not the thinnest monitor out there, but that’s to be expected since it houses the CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD.
The setup is firmly steady, without any swaying or movement whatsoever, ensuring it remains stationary as I position the display for optimal viewing.
This All-In-One device isn’t stingy with its available ports. You’ll find a variety of them located at the back of the monitor and on the stand, including two USB-C ports, four USB-A ports, two HDMI ports, a power port, an Ethernet port, and a headphone jack. With all these connections, I had more than enough options for my headset, speakers, ROG Ally docking station, and other gadgets. Moreover, the inclusion of Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6E means effortless connection to additional accessories or my network.
With the AIO’s attached plastic cable organizer clip on its stand, I managed to neatly store both the provided power cord and USB-C cable, resulting in a more streamlined appearance.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Software and apps
Software and apps
- Several HP programs come installed on the OmniStudio X AIO, but the one you’ll use most is MyHP.
- MyHP allows you to adjust audio, video, display, system, screen distance, and presence sensing settings. You can also reach out and get support through this app.
- If you purchase the OmniStudio X through HP’s website, you can choose from different Microsoft Office 365 or McAfee security software memberships.
- Software rating: 5/5
Just like many PC brands, the HP OmniStudio X 31.5″ arrives pre-installed with multiple applications. But, the one you’ll likely find yourself using frequently is MyHP.
With this software, you can customize a range of settings for the All-in-One device, including audio, video, display, system, screen distance, and presence detection. It also offers assistance when needed, thanks to its straightforward design and intuitive layout – making MyHP incredibly user-friendly.
If you buy this All-in-One (AIO) computer from a tech retailer, it will include Windows 11 Home and a trial of security software. On the other hand, if you customize your purchase directly on HP’s website, you can also opt for a Microsoft Office 365 or McAfee Security Software subscription. While these extras can be beneficial, they aren’t essential for an enjoyable All-in-One experience.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Display
Display highlights
- The 31.5-inch 4K FHD display offers crisp picture quality and is wide enough to easily multitask between two programs.
- This display produced 100% of sRGB, 87% of AdobeRGB, and 95% of P3 in a color gamut test.
- Max brightness reaches higher than 600nits, which means this display can be useful even in brightly lit rooms.
- Display rating: 5/5
Due to OmniStudio X’s expansive 31.5-inch IPS screen, this All-in-One (AIO) computer is an excellent option for those who juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. The spacious display enables me to divide it into two windows effortlessly, providing ample space for each window to function optimally. For example, I often use Adobe Photoshop on one side of the screen while browsing the internet on the other half at the same time.
I ran a color gamut test using a colorimeter and found that the IPS screen has a good color range. It’s not nearly as impressive as what you’d get with an OLED display, but colors are plenty vibrant and don’t look dull or over saturated. Thanks to the 4K FHD resolution, everything looks really crisp and clear, too.
Following the color gamut assessment, I performed a brightness and contrast examination as well. This test revealed that the minimum brightness level is 50 nits, while it can exceed 600 nits. Being light-sensitive, I usually had to adjust the monitor to its lowest brightness setting to prevent headaches. However, this display should be visible even in brighter environments, which is advantageous.
Simultaneously, this 31.5-inch IPS display boasts an impressive contrast ratio that enhances the clarity of images. Interestingly, although it doesn’t produce true black, its deep black level exceeds expectations, even at maximum screen brightness.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Performance and thermals
Performance & thermals highlights
- While it doesn’t offer the very best performance on the market, this AIO is a fantastic all-rounder that can handle a bit of everything.
- Even when running a CPU stress test, the AIO’s fans never got very loud.
- It also does a good job keeping itself cool, only peaking at a max temperature of 103 degrees F (~40 degrees C).
- Performance rating: 4/5
To assess the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU’s capabilities, I initially conducted a Geekbench 6 test to examine its performance and then a Cinebench R24 test to evaluate its rendering capabilities. In the Geekbench test, OmniStudio X obtained the second-highest multi-core score for an Ultra 7 155H we’ve seen so far at 12,675, trailing slightly behind. The Cinebench result was impressive as well, with a solid 808 multi-core score that benefited significantly from the RTX 40-Series GPU. This suggests that OmniStudio X delivers strong CPU performance that aligns well with expectations.
I conducted Procyon tests on the AI-enhanced Neural Processing Unit (NPU) of this CPU, an AI processor. In the Windows ML Float32 CPU test, the NPU scored 86 points, which isn’t the best we’ve seen but it’s not bad either. On the other hand, it achieved a more impressive 285 points in the Intel OpenVINO float16 NPU test, outperforming most AI Ultra 7 155H NPU scores we’ve encountered so far. While the newly launched Intel Core Ultra 200S series is more efficient at handling AI tasks, this score for the 100S model isn’t bad given its capabilities.
The OmniStudio X with its 31.5-inch screen isn’t the most potent computer out there, but it’s an excellent multipurpose machine capable of managing a variety of tasks.
Following an examination of the CPU, I ensured to perform a fresh installation of NVIDIA drivers and conducted several diverse 3DMark tests to assess GPU performance. In the Time Spy graphics test, the AIO’s RTX 4050 L delivered a score of 6,088, which fell short of my expectations. I also experimented with various applications in Adobe Photoshop and sampled several graphically demanding games like Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Photoshop functioned flawlessly on the OmniStudio X, yet heavy gaming wasn’t optimal. Although the AIO could handle more taxing games, they each appeared quite jerky, with a significant amount of screen tearing. For instance, during the Cyberpunk 2077 benchmark with High default settings, the AIO managed a fairly dismal average of 16 frames per second.
Afterward, I examined the Solid State Drive (SSD) transfer rates by executing CrystalDiskMark sequential read trials. The All-In-One (AIO) achieved a commendable read speed of 6,684 MB/s in reading data and a write speed of 4,982 MB/s while saving it. Although it won’t set any records when loading or saving information, it certainly doesn’t lag behind either.
After conducting CrossMark tests on the OmniStudio X 31.5″ AIO, we discovered its overall system performance score was 1,757. Though not record-breaking, this score surpasses many other devices we’ve evaluated. In essence, the test results indicate that the OmniStudio X 31.5″ isn’t the most potent PC in the market, but it excels as a versatile device capable of handling various tasks. However, it may not deliver exceptional performance when running graphically demanding games.
Thermals and fan noises
To examine the cooling system of the AIO, I initiated a CPU stress test using Cinebench R24 for twenty minutes. Towards the end of this testing period, I utilized an infrared camera to gather temperature readings. Generally speaking, the OmniStudio X maintains a reasonable temperature; however, the upper right corner of the AIO becomes significantly warmer compared to other areas. This section on the visible side reached approximately 96 degrees Fahrenheit (35 degrees Celsius), while the reverse side peaked at around 103 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees C). Notably, this heat level is not uncomfortable to the touch anywhere on the AIO.
To test the noise level of the AIO, I cranked up its CPU to make the fans spin, then used a decibel meter to measure the sound. Amazingly, even when sitting right in front of it and holding the device close to my ear, the loudest reading I got was only 35.8 dB.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Keyboard and mouse
Keyboard and mouse highlights
- There are plenty of useful function keys and a full number pad on the included keyboard.
- The mouse doesn’t have the best ergonomic shape.
- AAA batteries for the keyboard and mouse are included in the box.
- Keyboard and mouse rating: 4/5
Included in the OmniStudio X 31.5″ All-in-One package is an HP 710 USB Meteor Silver Keyboard and Mouse combo, along with four AAA batteries for operation. While these accessories serve their purpose, they may not offer the most comfortable experience compared to other options available.
This mouse doesn’t have an ergonomic design as those on our best gaming mouse list; it appears too wide and long for me. Additionally, I find myself stretching my pointer finger excessively to operate the scroll wheel. However, it responds well and moves smoothly around.
This keyboard boasts a compact design, with its keys having minimal travel distance that some may find appealing while others might prefer more. It does come equipped with a complete number pad, full-sized arrow keys, and numerous helpful function buttons. Notably, it features a Copilot button for effortlessly summoning Microsoft’s AI assistant when desired. Overall, it responds promptly without any problems of disconnection. If you seek a keyboard that offers more ergonomic typing experience, I recommend checking out our top picks for PC keyboards instead.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Camera, mic, and audio
Camera, mic, and speaker highlights
- The 5MP IR camera offers good coloring and decently clear imagery as long as I’m in a well lit room.
- Presence Sensing works really well to help save power and protect your computer while you’re away.
- This AIO’s built-in speakers are very impressive, delivering fuller sound quality than many other monitors out there.
- Camera, mic, and speaker rating: 5/5
Similar to numerous All-in-One systems, this model’s webcam is positioned atop the screen and retracts out of view when not in use, only emerging when I press it down to eject. It pops up neatly and tucks away just as conveniently. The 5MP IR webcam delivers clear images with colors that appear accurate. However, during meetings, the microphone provides fair audio quality. For a more enhanced experience, consider investing in one of the top-tier gaming headsets or microphones specifically designed for PCs.
With Windows Hello facial recognition and Presence Sensing activated on this All-in-One system, it automatically logs out when you step away from the screen and promptly logs you back in once you return to your seat. This not only conserves energy by minimizing idle time but also enhances file security by ensuring continuous protection.
The speakers in the OmniStudio X are positioned at the bottom of the screen and direct sounds downwards, resulting in an effective amplification as the sound bounces off your desk. Given that it’s an All-In-One system rather than a standalone monitor, the speakers boast high-quality performance. They not only reach impressive volumes but also excel at managing both high and low frequencies better than many others.
HP OmniStudio X 31.5″: Competition
Currently, you’ll find a variety of All-in-One (AIO) systems available, each offering distinct specifications, screen dimensions, and unique features tailored to cater to your particular requirements.
As a researcher examining various all-in-one (AIO) systems, I find myself particularly drawn to the OmniStudio X 31.5″. However, if budget constraints or space requirements are factors for you, I would recommend considering the OmniStudio X 27″.
Beyond HP’s offerings, another impressive all-in-one (AIO) device with a spacious 31.5-inch screen can be found in the Lenovo Yoga AiO 9i review. Unlike the OmniStudio X, it doesn’t function as an AI PC, but it does boast a potent 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13900H processor. If you opt for purchasing it from the Lenovo website, you can choose to include an RTX 4050 GPU with your purchase. However, if budget is a concern, the Intel Iris Xe graphics option can be found at Best Buy for $1,799.99.
Should you be interested in a touchscreen model, I suggest checking out my review for the Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO 5i. This device boasts a large, 27-inch IPS touchscreen that is highly responsive. Under the hood, it comes with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. It’s equipped with numerous ports and its base serves as a wireless phone charger, adding to its convenience. You can find it priced at $925.00 on Amazon.
