As a lifestyle expert with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that Mariska Hargitay’s admiration for Hoda Kotb is truly heartwarming. The camaraderie between these two powerhouse women, both having reached their 60th milestone and celebrating their 26-year partnership, is a testament to the enduring bond that can be formed through shared experiences and mutual respect.

Mariska Hargitay is more than happy to take on this task.

As an ardent fan, I can’t help but feel a pang of sadness upon hearing the news that Hoda Kotb will be departing from the Today show in the year 2025. The thought of life without her bright presence on my screen every morning is almost too much to bear! I simply can’t wait to see how she wraps up her tenure and what new adventures await her after this significant chapter in her career comes to a close.

As a devoted admirer, let me express my heartfelt sentiments: “I have an immense affection for you and feel an incredible sense of pride and inspiration when I’m around you. Seeing you today filled me with such joy and anticipation.” These are the words I shared with Hoda and your esteemed co-host Savannah Guthrie on Today, October 1st. And I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to express this sentiment.

When you decided, I happily agreed,” Mariska exclaimed. “I can’t help but feel sorrow for ourselves in this nation who will miss you, and especially Savannah.

The Emmy winner even offered to take over Hoda’s anchor duties, telling the co-hosts she was “happy to step in anytime.”

Mariska mentioned that she and Hoda are both marking their 26th year in their respective roles – Mariska on the drama series “Law & Order: SVU” and Hoda as a correspondent at NBC’s “Dateline,” starting October 3 for the former, and 1998 for the latter. She playfully stated, “We’ve been together 26 years, baby,” and “And we’ve been going strong for 60 years, baby.

Hoda mentioned that her turning sixty in August was among the reasons she chose to step down from Today.

She shared during her broadcast on September 26th that she felt it was the right moment, at age 60, to embark on a new journey. She recalled standing outside amidst a crowd of lovely individuals holding inspiring signs, and she felt, “This is the pinnacle of my wave.” She couldn’t imagine anything better, so she decided that this was the perfect time for her to transition to something new.

She also expressed her desire to focus on her family, namely her daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 5.

As someone who became a parent later in life, I realized that my children deserved a more substantial slice of my precious time pie. Time, after all, is a limited resource for us all. Therefore, making this decision has proven to be one of the most challenging things I’ve ever faced.
