In the past month, FromSoftware disclosed that Elden Ring will be available on Nintendo Switch 2, which is fantastic for the plumber character, however, it’s not particularly exciting news for PC gamers. However, it’s worth noting that this version of the game includes some fresh content, and since I enjoy novelty, I was a bit disappointed to see that publisher Bandai Namco only hinted at these additions arriving on “other platforms.” Nevertheless, I have positive news! Yes, the additional contents from the Switch 2’s Tarnished Edition will be accessible on PC as part of a Tarnished Pack DLC.
Directly from the FromSoftware Games Event Spring 2025, held today and reported by Famitsu with RPG Site providing additional details, here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come. Although the information is scarce, every bit helps! In this upcoming update, four brand-new armor sets will be available for acquisition. Among these, two will cater to starting classes – Knight of Ides and Heavy Armored Knight. As expected, both are knights, adding to our existing roster. While it’s not groundbreaking that we have more knight options, we can’t help but look forward to exploring these new characters! Interestingly, the Knight of Ides and the Heavy Armored Knight will each represent one of the four new armor sets.
In addition to the current look of your faithful horse, Torrent, you’ll now have a total of three new styles to choose from. Previously, there was none to pick from. It seems that additional weapons and abilities will be incorporated into the Soulslike game as well. Although FromSoftware mentioned that the DLC pack would be affordable for those not on Switch 2, I find it unusual that it’s not being offered as a free update instead.
Let’s hope and keep our fingers crossed that the game, Duskbloods, which is essentially Bloodborne 2 but an online version, will also be released for PC in the future.
