Learn all the essential details regarding the Weapon Mastery Refinement in Throne and Liberty, including its distinctive features.
In the latest update for Throne and Liberty, titled Wilds of Talandre, a fresh Weapon Specialization system has been implemented. This innovative feature grants each weapon 200 levels, with one level equivalent to a single point that can be allocated on a Node. Players can distribute these points across four distinct categories.
The process begins by investing points in the inner circle, and eventually progresses to spending points on the rare line as time goes on. This system empowers players to elevate their weapons, while assigning mastery points to tailor their playstyle. As a result, they can unlock potent abilities and boost their character’s effectiveness.
Players amass Weapon Mastery Experience through various game activities, which unlocks nodes of varying rarities that represent unique paths. In this guide, we’ll delve into the workings of the new Weapon Mastery system in Throne and Liberty, offering helpful tips and strategies along the way.
Weapon Mastery Overview in Throne and Liberty
In the game Throne and Liberty, players can enhance their skills with different types of weapons through a system called Weapon Expertise. This enables them to unlock passive skills that can tailor their playing experience. Each weapon category features a distinct Mastery Tree divided into three sections: Attack, Strategy, and Defense. To access advanced abilities, you need to unlock the nodes. Gaining Weapon Mastery Points is achieved by vanquishing enemies in open-world dungeons. But, it’s Abyssal Contract Tokens that help you earn weapon mastery experience points.
1. Finishing tasks assigned by Contract Managers yields Abyssal Contract Tokens as rewards.
2. Obtain the Weapon Mastery Seal in Co-Op dungeons, which grants 100,000 experience points. Alternatively, you can use the Training Dew item instead of the Weapon Mastery Seal.
3. Activating the mastery level-up process using Soliant will provide access to potent abilities and gameplay improvements tailored to your selected mastery.
4. To progress through the mastery levels, you’ll need to meet certain prerequisites such as spending mastery points and gathering materials.
What was Revamped with Weapon Mastery in Throne and Liberty?
In the latest update for Throne and Liberty Wilds of Talandre, a new weapon proficiency system has been implemented, overhauling the previous one. This updated system allows you to equip up to 4 independent passive abilities for weapons directly in the game. The number of specialization points you’ve accumulated determines which skills become available to you. You can unlock these slots at 130, 260, 390, and 520 points. Additionally, weapons can now be elevated up to level 200, awarding 200 points that can be distributed across their specific skill trees.
For each weapon, there’s a specialized skill system made up of nodes that you can open using resources like Hunting Gold and precious gems. You can reassign your mastery points for free at any time, which helps you to enhance attributes and passive effects called Class Synergies by unlocking these nodes. Moreover, you have the flexibility to shift mastery points between various weapon categories, fostering an environment where players can explore diverse weapon combinations. Some advanced skills become available at particular specialization milestones.

Weapon Mastery Revamp Mechanic
Every weapon possesses four sectors: attack, defense, strategy, and assistance. Within each sector, there are ordinary, unusual, scarce, and epic levels denoted by being part of their respective Circles. As you progress, the achievements’ effects lie between these Circles. To advance, you must unlock every node, beginning with common ones. By hovering over each node or achievement effect, you can view the prerequisites for its unlocking.
As a gamer, I’ve come to understand that nodes can elevate up to a max of 10 levels, and advanced nodes need a total of 30 Mastery points to be accessed. For instance, if I wish to unlock all the critical uncommon dagger attack nodes along with the materials, I’ll need to invest 30 Mastery points into common nodes. It’s essential to note that these 30 points can be distributed across any area, but you must spend 30 points on each common, uncommon, or rare Circle to unlock the next one. Achievement effects don’t require any specific points or materials for activation; however, you need to invest 20 Mastery points in each circle to activate it.
How to use Weapon Mastery
To find out which two nodes are necessary to unlock an achievement effect, simply trace the lines connecting the circles. For instance, to trigger Incising Fang, follow the line connection; you’ll notice that achieving level 10 in any two of these four connected nodes will activate it. This principle applies to other high-level achievements and nodes as well.
As a gamer, I’ve got to keep this straight: In each Circle, I can only have two active Achievement Effects from the lot – attacks, defense, utility, or support. For instance, going for Incising Fang and Extreme Blood Loss means I can’t activate Vampiric Instinct or Shadow Armor at the same time. But, in the other two Circles, I can mix and match as I please. The twist is, it takes 80 Rare Mastery points to trigger one Epic Achievement Effect, and a hefty 120 Mastery points for two of them.
Leveling Up Mastery
Instead of Training Dews, the creators are introducing Weapon Mastery Seals for improving proficiency. These seals automatically accumulate in a collective pool of weapon mastery experience once obtained. You can easily check how much mastery experience is available. By adding or subtracting experience points for each weapon, you have control over how much you want to allocate. Leveling up Mastery still benefits from burning tokens in open-world dungeons, but it will only contribute experience to the two weapons being used for farming purposes.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the Mastery swap system! This feature enables me to exchange my Mastery levels using a Conversion Book, allowing me to switch between weapons without needing to grind or farm resources. This handy book can be purchased from the shop. Additionally, there are four Mastery skill slots, with each slot and skill requiring a certain overall Mastery level for unlocking and use. For instance, having Longbow Mastery level 50, Dagger 50, and Staff 30 will unlock the first slot and grant access to skills that activate at 130 Mastery levels. These unique and powerful skills work seamlessly with every possible weapon combination.
To best prepare, aim to advance your proficiency with both primary weapons to level 20. Reaching this level will grant each weapon an additional 80 Mastery levels. There isn’t a specific chart detailing how many Mastery levels you gain based on your current level, but it is known that level 20 translates into new level 80. If you divide 80 by 20, the result is 4. This implies that if you multiply your current Mastery level by four, you’ll get an estimate of your new Mastery level.
As a gamer, I’m focusing on completing daily missions, delving into dungeons, gathering open-world dungeon tokens, and any task that rewards Training Dews or Mastery. This strategy will help me rack up more Mastery experience in the new Talandre region. Right now, global servers have buffs that boost weapon Mastery, and all contracts offer a higher amount of Dew. With this opportune farming period, I’m aiming to achieve level 20 Mastery on three weapons initially, with the rest at level 10 – this should serve as an excellent starting point for my journey ahead!
To reach level 10 is surprisingly straightforward, but if you aim for maximizing your skills and having all four Mastery skill slots filled on the first day, you’ll need three weapons at level 20 and an additional five weapons at level 14. This amounts to a total of 130 current levels, which multiplied by four gives us a target of 520 new Mastery levels. To manage your Mastery builds effectively, utilize the Quest Log. Here you can view all the stats, passives, and Buffs that come with each combination, as well as the materials and Sollant requirements needed for upgrading.
Mechanic Inventory in KCD2
As a player, I find it convenient to keep my gear organized by navigating to the character menu using the “I” key. Within this menu, there’s an option called Dissolve which lets me break down my equipment. This process not only declutters but also increases the number of inventory slots available. Initially, you get 130 slots, and additional slots can be purchased in groups of five for a fee in gold. To discard unnecessary items, I make use of the Dissolve function which costs 80 gold per item.
On the other hand, the Rune System brings new items into play that tend to take up more space in Throne and Liberty. Therefore, it’s essential to regularly check my inventory to store or remove items that I no longer require.
