As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent navigating complex game menus and controls, I can attest that Throne & Liberty has certainly thrown me for a loop when it comes to entering the Amitoi house! The methods for doing so are not only confusing but also seem to vary depending on whether you’re playing on Steam or the NCSoft version.
Title & Freedom has been rolled out almost entirely in western territories via its global launch on Steam, and early access players are already uncovering a handful of minor glitches. One such issue is the perplexing means to gain entry into the Amitoi residence. In this tutorial, we’ll swiftly walk you through two distinct methods you can use, based on your control settings.
How to Enter the Amitoi House
Before we dive in, it’s important to mention that the experience could differ based on whether you’re using the Steam version or the NCSoft version (particularly if you’re from Southeast Asia). I’ll do my best to address the methods known for both controller and keyboard players in both versions.
Mouse & Keyboard Players
After you’ve called upon your Amitoi, you should notice an icon on your hotbar that resembles the one you’ve summoned. Hovering over this button will display the current companion you have, and a smaller house icon signifying it’s a teleport function.
Click on the specified area to initiate a teleportation spell, which will swiftly transport your character to the Amitoi residence. You may depart from this secure zone by clicking on the exit symbol located in the upper right corner of the screen.
Controller Players (NCSoft & Steam Version)
For individuals utilizing a controller, the process can be somewhat complex as there’s no instruction manual available. Here’s a simple guide on how to proceed:
Steam Version – L2 / Left Trigger Menu
Initially, press the button labeled either ‘L2’ or ‘Left Trigger’, depending on your controller. This action will open a circular menu known as ‘Quick Menu 1’. To move to the next menu, maintain your hold on L2/LT and gently push the left analog stick, which is usually referred to as L3.
After you’ve navigated to the “Quick Menu 2“, move your analog stick towards the icon positioned at the upper right corner to choose the “Amitoi House” teleport option. Once there, simply release all control buttons and your character will initiate casting a teleportation spell automatically.
Essentially, that’s the whole story so far, and given its confusing nature, there might be an adjustment in a future update or hotfix. Be sure to check for any updates in the patch notes if one is released.
NCSoft / Purple Launcher Version – Streamlined Method
For Southeast Asian gamers using NCSoft servers through the Purple Launcher (since you can’t access it directly from Steam without a VPN), here’s an easier approach: There’s a quicker method available as well. In essence, the process remains the same, but this alternative way could save you some time.
To enter the Amitoi House, first press and hold the button labeled as ‘L2’ or the left trigger on your controller. Following that, press the button located at the top of the right side of your controller, typically marked as ‘Triangle’ or ‘Y’. For controllers similar to those by 8bitdo, this will be the ‘X’ button.
The new menu will appear in the upper right part of your screen. Use the directional keys to move towards the “Amitoi Expedition” option, then press the button located at the bottom of your controller’s action keys to select it.
Lastly, give that button a good old press and hold, and watch as my character starts weaving a teleportation charm, whisking me off to the Amitoi House in no time flat. Perfectly swift, just as it needs to be!
