In the game Throne & Liberty, Dragaryle is one of the bosses encountered during the Altar of Calanthia raid. However, the challenging version of the battle against Dragaryle proves almost impossible to complete unless you bypass its primary mechanic. Whether it’s due to a bug or players yet to discover the solution, the lightning orb pillar mechanic appears unattainable. Despite this, there is a way to circumvent it entirely using a specific method, which we will discuss in this guide!
Requirements to Skip Mechanic Dragaryle Hard / Difficult Mode Guide | Throne & Liberty
In simpler terms, to bypass the challenging fight against Dragaryle in Difficult Mode, you and your team must have an exceptionally high rate of dealing damage (DPS). Since there’s no tool to measure this beforehand, the way to determine if you have enough DPS is by observing how quickly you manage to defeat the boss itself.
If your damage output (DPS) is sufficient, you should manage to lower Dragaryle’s health by approximately 89%. This occurs when Dragaryle performs its three-ring attack in the arena center, causing three ring-shaped areas of effect (AoEs) that you need to avoid. If you can do this before it executes its attack once, your damage output suggests that it is adequate.
In this scenario, avoiding the first ring attack causes Dragaryle to perform its Fear attack instead. During this attack, everyone in the party should be cautious as they’ll find themselves surrounded by a violet aura. To prevent the auras from overlapping and causing issues, players should spread out evenly. Afterwards, prepare for Dragaryle to execute two Fury attacks that require blocking, followed by a third one which you must evade.
As a gamer, I aim to bring down Dragaryle’s health to about 51% within 2 minutes and 50 seconds. If I go over that timeframe, my party won’t have enough damage per second (DPS) to defeat the boss. Once Dragaryle’s HP is around 50.1% to 51.0%, I need to hold tight for the colored pillar mechanic to appear.
Colored Pillars and the 50% DPS Check
In the course of the battle, Dragaryle will conjure six pillars named Statue of Oblivion spread across the battlefield. Initially, your task is to approach each pillar and engage with it. Once that’s done, Dragaryle will jump towards a player before returning to the center of the arena. Subsequently, he’ll launch a three-ring area of effect (AoE), which you should simply dodge.
In the arena, each player will be identified by either a red triangle or a blue star symbol. If a player’s symbol matches that of a pillar, they can move towards it and prevent its Fury attack from being unleashed, causing the color of the pillar to change. The objective is to have all pillars display the same color. It might be beneficial to strategize with your team beforehand, such as deciding to concentrate on turning them all blue initially.
Once the final pillar is changed to match the same color as the others, they will vanish temporarily. This momentary confusion will give Dragaryle a shock, providing an opportunity for the entire raiding party to intensify their attacks. In this stunned state, it’s crucial to focus all your efforts on dealing damage to Dragaryle, reducing its Health Points significantly below 50%.
If you manage to deal enough damage quickly, Dragaryle will revert back to its previous attack patterns. However, if your damage per second (DPS) falls short, it will instead summon lightning orbs and pillars, as well as grow wings. This means that the mechanic has not been skipped and you’ll need to improve your DPS for better results.
Finishing the Fight after the Mechanic Skip | Throne & Liberty: Difficult Mode Dragaryle Raid
Following your group’s successful evasion of the mechanic, Dragaryle essentially carries on with the fight in its current manner. There are no novel attacks to be aware of at this point. Nevertheless, it is crucial for your party to maintain high damage output since you are, in essence, racing against time.
In due course, Dragaryle is expected to conjure the lightning orb pillars that you missed earlier, as depicted in the illustration provided. Unfortunately, there’s a glitch with this mechanic, causing it to malfunction. Instead, your team and you will have approximately one minute to concentrate on inflicting damage.
To secure victory, defeat the boss quickly while it’s still using the glitched mechanic! However, if you can’t manage to take it down within 60 seconds, your entire team could be eliminated.
In essence, this approach turns the battle predominantly into a test of damage output, as we previously discussed. However, due to issues with the lightning orb pillar mechanic, this appears to be the only viable strategy for defeating the boss at present. Fingers crossed for a fix, but until then, this technique serves its purpose.
Even though you’re ready to face the Difficult Mode version of the Dragaryle boss in Throne & Liberty without the mechanic, if you think your damage output could use a boost, consider exploring ways to obtain and enhance Heroic-tier gear. It may just be what you need for a competitive edge!
