Throne & Liberty: Luring Device Mana Source Guide in The Sandstorm Overlord Quest

As a seasoned veteran of Eastern MMORPGs, I can confidently say that while Throne & Liberty may not be a storytelling powerhouse, it certainly knows how to keep players engaged with its fast-paced gameplay and intricate questlines. The Sandstorm Overlord questline is no exception, as it presents challenges that require a keen eye and quick reflexes.

Just like many Eastern MMORPGs, “Throne & Liberty” may not boast a gripping narrative, but the main quest is essential if you’re aiming for rapid level-ups. In the course of the primary questline, dubbed “Sandstorm Overlord“, you’ll eventually encounter a stage known as “Luring Device Mana Source“. This guide will walk you through completing it!

From this point forward in the narrative, you’ll interact fleetingly with Harrison within the hatchery. Following the mission goals, it’s essential that you transform into one of the specified creatures before proceeding.

As a fan, I’d like to share an alternative way for your traveling morphs. Rather than using the regular options, head over to the Morph menu, then open the Special tab. In this section, you’ll find the Shapeshift sub category where you can choose the suitable creature for your transformation. Enjoy the magic!

If you haven’t deliberately skipped all the side quests related to exploration in the game, then you should have acquired at least one specific form by now. Here are some instances where you might find such forms:

  • Scarab
  • Chestacean
  • Toximaw Spider
  • Sea Crab

To check the classification of a morph, simply move your cursor over it. If it turns out to be an insect (as all examples provided are), you’re good to go! Feel free to select any of them and click on “Add Designated Morph” or just “Instant Transform” to change immediately.

Full disclaimer, but I already finished the main story a while ago, so correct me in the comments if any of the above morphs didn’t work for you. They should though, especially the Toximaw Spider, which I do remember using for this.

Moving forward, if ‘Instant Morph’ wasn’t your selection, you’ll have to undergo a transformation using the button assigned as ‘Shapeshift’. On PC, this is typically the ‘Page Up’ key. For those using a controller, press and hold the left trigger, then move your analog stick towards the lower-left direction to opt for ‘Shapeshift’.

With this form, you can now move towards the baby sandworms. Use your primary attack to swiftly eliminate one, then retreat so that more of them reappear. Transform back into your designated creature and carry out this action once more to collect a total of two Potent Poison Sacs.

As a gamer, I’d advise sticking to my one-shot abilities or straightforward attacks when taking on these wriggly foes. Going for area-of-effect moves might seem like a good idea, but the truth is, it’s quite unreliable. These critters have a knack for burrowing away before I can land any significant damage with my AOE strikes.

After completing the initial task in your current quest, it’s time for you to inspect the Egg About to Hatch at the back of the cave. This action will summon a Furious Sandworm Chief which you need to vanquish next.

This creature isn’t exactly a boss, but it packs quite a punch with over 15,000 health. Be sure you’re fully stocked up and ready with enough damage output to quickly defeat it! After it’s defeated, simply talk to Harrison once more and exit the cave to finish this segment of the quest line!

As someone who has navigated countless adventures through the pages of various fantastical realms, I can confidently say that this part of your journey seems to be nearing its halfway mark, roughly at chapter 7. The reward for your valiant efforts is a modest sum of approximately 8000 Sollant and a few mana regeneration potions. It may not seem like much, but these trinkets could prove invaluable on the treacherous path that lies ahead. Keep pressing forward, adventurer! Your next challenge awaits just around the bend.

Did you realize that after finishing story chapters, you can watch a summary video? To access this, simply visit the Amitoi House, since it’s where you’ll discover the “Memories of Adventure” book. This book contains voice-overs by the game’s narrator summarizing the previous chapters!
