As a seasoned warrior in the realm of Throne & Liberty, I’ve seen my fair share of battles and quests. But none have been quite as exhilarating as the Wolf Hunting Contest! This event, part of the “Return of the Age of Wolves” task, is a thrilling test of skill and survival.
In the game Throne & Liberty, one of the tasks given is called “Return of the Age of Wolves.” This task involves taking part in a Wolf Hunting Competition event.
In the expansive Blackhowl Plains, a Wolf Hunt Tournament occurs approximately every few hours. This event results in an abundance of Wolf Lure scattered across the area, drawing massive groups of wolves. Your objective is to eliminate as many of these creatures as possible and retrieve their tails. The greater number of tails you bring in, the more impressive your prizes will be!

Return Of The Age Of Wolves Guide | Wolf Hunting Contest Event
In the game Throne & Liberty, the “Wolf Hunting Contest” is part of the mission titled “Revival of the Wolf Era“. This is an example of a living event in the game world. To find out when this event will occur next, remember to glance at the schedule within the game itself. On a PC, you can do this by clicking on the button displayed above. If you’re using a console, press L2 + Triangle for PlayStation or LT + Y for Xbox.
The Timetable will show you when the event is next set to start, as you can see above.
Instead, as you navigate your map, consider glancing at the schedule as well. Here, you’ll find details about every event in each area. To locate the Wolf Hunting Contest, simply search for the green wolf symbol.
As the event gets underway, make your way to the Blackhowl Plains. There, take a moment to stand by and listen, as you’ll soon hear an NPC discussing the event details, allowing you some time to get ready.
Participating in the Wolf Hunting Contest
As soon as the event starts, packs of wolves will appear in the vicinity. Your objective is to fight them off and claim their tails, with one tail awarded for each kill. To finish the “Return of the Wolves” quest, you must collect and deliver at least ten tails.
As an enthusiast, I’d like to guide you: To acquire the Wolf Tails, venture over to one of the open Campsites spotted across the region. You can identify these on the provided map, marked with green box icons. Once you embark on your adventure, these campsites will be clearly indicated on your in-game map as well.
Keep in mind that two campsites will be closing unpredictably as the event unfolds. You’ll receive a notification from the event host NPC when this takes place. The first random campsite shuts down approximately 11 minutes into the event, and the second about 16 minutes in. With this in mind, it’s advisable to concentrate on collecting Wolf Tails during the last 4 minutes of the event for optimal results.
As a gamer, I’d rather stick around in Blackhowl Plains during the event. Leaving might mean losing my hard-earned progress.
Go ahead and gather and bring back as many Wolf Tales as possible to finish both the Wolf Hunting Contest and the “Return of the Age of Wolves” Codex Mission in Throne & Liberty. You’ll find it relatively easy to collect the necessary amount, provided you’re not underleveled. If the event doesn’t start yet, don’t worry, you can always try again when it does!
