Throne & Liberty: Where To Get Vitalstones & What Do They Do

As a seasoned Throne & Liberty gamer with hundreds of hours under my belt, I can tell you that Vitalstones are as elusive as the rarest of Pokémon in this game – they may be hard to come by but boy, are they worth it!

In the game ‘Throne & Liberty’, Vitalstones are exceptionally scarce resources, making it challenging to determine their origin and purpose.

Firstly, these objects appear to originate from the massive flying creature known as Gigantrite, which resembles a whale.

In this tutorial, we’ll walk you through the essential details regarding the sources of Essential Stones and their functions.

The only place where you can get Vitalstones in Throne & Liberty is from the Divine Beast Crystals, which are related to the Gigantrite event. What the Vitalstones do is tied to the Gigantrite event, as well. As such, we recommend checking the Timetable in-game to wait for the event to start. To do so, click on the button shown above on PC to open the Timetable. If you’re playing on a console, press L2 + Triangle (PlayStation) or LT + Y (Xbox).

The Gigantrite occurrence takes place approximately every few hours each day, and the schedule will keep you informed about its next commencement.

Alternatively, you can also check a more detailed version of the Timetable on the map screen. Just look for the Gigantrite event icon, which looks similar to a whale.

As soon as the event commences, the colossal Gigantrite will emerge and soar across Solisium. You’ll be able to monitor its path on your map too.

Unlike the quest “Little Friend in the Sky” where you had to climb aboard Gigantrite, this time you can track it from the ground level. The Gigantrite will occasionally drop Divine Beast Crystals. When one of these crystals falls close by, go ahead and interact with it to collect a random number of Vitalstones!

What Do Vitalstones Do?

With the Vitalstones in your possession, it’s high time to employ them as we previously discussed, and that usage is closely linked with the Gigantrite event. To access the Gigantrite, you’ll need to navigate there using your Glide Morph from one of the boarding spots situated along its travel path. The specific boarding spots available for you will depend on the Gigantrite’s randomly determined route.

  • Fonos Basin – The easiest route to follow, with the most boarding points. The Gigantrite will first pass by the Purelight Tower, then the Starlight Observatory, and finally the Veder Lookout.
  • Kastleton – The “in-between” route, it only has two boarding points. Starlight Observatory first, and then the Stonegard Castle Walls.
  • Stonegard – The hardest route to board the Gigantrite, as the Gigantrite flies out of reach for most of the route. However, you can land on it at the end of its route from the Stonegard Castle Walls.

After climbing onto Gigantrite, search for the interactive wounds on its body which appear like big rocks. Interact with these to use one Vitalstone and receive a random amount of Stellarite Elements, typically between 2 and 4 per Vitalstone.

You need to mix ten Stellarite Elements and ten packets of Magic Powder together in order to create a Stellarite Chest. Opening this chest will reward you with one hundred Stellarite consumables, which will enhance your next attack by adding a 10% bonus damage.

Here’s all you need to understand regarding the acquisition of Vitalstones and their functions within Throne & Liberty! For instructions on obtaining Magic Powder needed for crafting the Stellarite Chest, feel free to consult our handy guide on acquiring Magic Powder.
