Thunder Lotus Games, the creators behind Spiritfarer and 33 Immortals, have unveiled their latest project: At Fate’s End. This side-scrolling action-adventure game puts players in a challenging position as they engage in deeply emotional battles with long-lost siblings. The game is set to debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC platforms – including Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store – in the year 2026. Subscribers of Game Pass will also have access to it.
According to Thunder Lotus Games’ creative director Nicolas Guerin in a statement, “At Fate’s End” will be built upon the emotional depth and mechanics-narrative balance we discovered in “Spiritfarer”. This new venture will explore exciting, action-packed realms while maintaining an intimate connection. The game’s central theme revolves around families that are torn apart, and the possibility of their eventual reunion.
Here is an overview of the game, via Thunder Lotus Games:
About
In “At Fate’s End,” I find myself immersed in a thrilling action-adventure journey, where the line between friend and foe becomes blurred. Wielding the mythical God Sword Aesus as Shan, the nimble heiress of the Hemlock clan, I traverse a vibrant, meticulously crafted fantasy realm. Engaging in fierce battles against the vile creatures that inhabit this world, I must also untangle intricate narrative riddles, unearth heartrending secrets, and sharpen both my sword skills and wisdom to prepare for the climactic, emotionally charged duels with my estranged kin. It’s up to me to determine the destiny of my family in this epic tale.
Gameplay
In a richly imagined fantasy realm marred by familial strife, At Fate’s End places players as Shan, a passionate princess who yields the divine Aesus, the God Sword. To seize her inheritance, Shan encounters her long-separated siblings in gripping, emotionally resonant battles — conflicts that are not just physical but also involve dialogue, deep understanding of psychology, and profound awareness of their shared past experiences.
In “At Fate’s End”, Thunder Lotus takes a new creative direction. Unlike “Spiritfarer” which invited players to bid farewell, “At Fate’s End” compels them to face the unspoken, and battle for comprehension amidst the ruins of a fractured family, encouraging confrontation rather than goodbyes.
