As a lifelong Marvel fan who has witnessed the evolution of this universe since its inception, I am beyond thrilled about the upcoming Thunderbolts movie. Having grown up with these characters, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and anticipation seeing them come together on screen.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is poised to enter a fresh phase, with the Thunderbolts taking charge. This summer at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed some exciting plans for the future. Characters like Ironheart and Daredevil will be joining the roster, and we’ve already had a sneak peek of the upcoming Thunderbolts.
As you can see below, Entertainment Weekly posted an exclusive sizzle reel hyping the next MCU projects. It is there we can spot the so-called Dark Avengers in all their glory. From Yelena Belova to Bucky Barnes and Ghost, everyone is here in this new teaser. The unlikely team is ready to tackle a darker side of the MCU, and you can bet the Red Guardian is ready for some action.
In this latest trailer, we’re finally seeing the first glimpses of the movie Thunderbolts, but there’s been a lot of buzz about it beforehand. At San Diego Comic-Con, Florence Pugh (Yelena) spoke with Entertainment Weekly and shared some insights into her character in the film, which connects to the Red Guardian played by David Harbour. These characters were initially introduced on screen in Black Widow, and their unique familial bond resonated strongly with audiences worldwide. Just like that film did, Thunderbolts is expected to tug at heartstrings, and Pugh mentioned that she and Harbour continued the development of their characters from where they left off in the previous film.
What to Expect From Thunderbolts
David and I utilized every moment we had together in the first film as fully as we could. Given that we were returning for a potential second movie, we were eager to delve deeper and explore where our characters are at this stage of their lives. (Pugh’s statement to the site)
Due to the director’s vision for the story and the opportunity we had, our characters, who were intricately complex and challenging to coexist, could explore a peculiar yet sincere and human father-daughter bond. I was incredibly thankful for this experience, particularly working with an actor like David.
As a hardcore Marvel fan, I can’t contain my excitement! The new chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to unfold starting soon. Get ready for “Thunderbolts” to light up the big screen on May 2, 2025. If you want to be fully prepared for this movie, all the Marvel Universe content – both movies and shows – can be found streaming on Disney+.
