Despite public skepticism due to each member’s questionable past, they strive to do good. To complicate matters, Sam’s Avengers initiative is underway, with Captain America threatening legal action for copyright infringement. Despite this, the U.S. government acknowledges the New Avengers as their primary superhero team, offering them some official support.

In a lighthearted manner, the post-credit sequence of Thunderbolts addresses these matters by having Red Guardian (David Harbour) suggest renaming the team “New AvengerZ” to avoid legal action.
