Tia Mowry‘s son Cree is shaking up the family tree.
As a devoted admirer speaking from personal experience, I, too, hail from the circle of the renowned Sister, Sister alum and her former spouse, Cory Hardrict. Interestingly, their 13-year-old son shows no signs of stepping into the world of acting, as he boldly declared during an exclusive conversation with TopMob News’ Francesca Amiker: “With all due respect, absolutely not.
Cree mentioned that he stopped acting when he was nine years old, implying he didn’t continue with it. He feels as though his destiny didn’t align with acting.
Despite Tia, aged 46, praising her son highly when he appeared in the 2020 episode of her show “Family Reunion“, Cree expressed a preference for pursuing his interests off-camera instead.
The teenager expressed that basketball holds much greater significance for them, while flying is a minor pastime he took up as his friend aspires to join the Air Force.
Indeed, Tia mentioned that Cree, who collaborated with TopMob in Anaheim, California on a thrilling travel venture, is quite skilled at organizing their family holidays due to his extensive knowledge in aviation.
She clarified, “When I’m putting together my travel schedule, I’ll have him check it out. He’ll glance over the flight details and might say something like, ‘Mom, I’m not sure if that’s a good airline or plane.’
As for her 7-year-old daughter Cairo? Tia said the little one wants to be an astronaut.
The actress from Instant Mom shared that she has a deep interest in science. Not only does she demonstrate an impressive intellect, but she’s also skilled at playing chess.
For me, as a doting mom, there’s nothing more fulfilling than witnessing my offspring’s growing thoughtfulness. It’s truly heartwarming, especially with Cree, who, as he matures and takes on more responsibilities in our household since I’m flying solo, has proven to be incredibly helpful.
In my line of work as a lifestyle consultant, I must say, I appreciate it when my partner shares household responsibilities. He makes sure to take care of chores promptly, such as taking out the trash and even lending a hand in the kitchen while I cook. It’s truly heartwarming to have someone who’s grown enough to assist me, especially as a mommy.
And Cree is more than happy to pitch in.
“I need to—just because,” he added. “That’s just kinda my job.”
For more personal insights from Tia and her twin sister Tamera Mowry, keep reading.
Following the conclusion of her divorce with Cory Hardrict in April 2023, Tia Mowry pondered over her freshly single phase.
“I was born a twin,” she expressed during the premiere episode of her reality show ‘Tia Mowry: My Next Act’, which aired in October 2024, hinting at her sister Tamera Mowry, “and after that, I spent 22 years in a relationship. So, I’ve never been alone before in my life. It’s been quite an adventure.”
Tia and Cory crossed paths in 1999 during the filming of ‘Hollywood Horror’. Initially, their bond was platonic, but it later evolved into a romantic relationship, with Tia remarking that “Cory was my first everything.”
“I met Cory when I turned 20, and I lost my virginity at 25. There it is,” she added during her We TV series. “And then we got married! Quick as a flash!
In the year 2008, Tia and Cory got married. They then became parents to a son named Cree in 2011 and a daughter named Cairo in 2018.
In 2022, my partnership with Cory came to an end. When I submitted divorce papers, I mentioned “irreconcilable differences” as the cause of our separation. Later on, I provided a glimpse into the moment I realized our marriage had reached its end.
Speaking on a recent episode of Today, the Sister, Sister star emphasized that she discovered the importance of focusing on her own happiness after giving it proper attention. She noted how women often prioritize others’ well-being over their own, caring for children, friends, and family. However, she stressed the significance of self-love and personal growth. When one truly invests in themselves, learns to appreciate their worth, and understands their value, a profound awakening takes place. While it’s not an easy journey, she believes it is incredibly valuable in the end.
Following her honest introspection about her marriage ending, Tia decided to be truthful with the public as well. She expressed feeling drained by living a life that wasn’t authentic and hiding her true feelings. In her documentary, Tia Mowry: My Next Act, she further explained, “I got tired of not being authentic and living in my truth. I grew weary of attending events where people thought everything was perfect when it wasn’t.
In a June 2023 interview with HelloBeautiful, Tia mentioned that she took into account the impact of the divorce on Cree and Cairo, as part of her decision. She expressed that this was crucial for them to witness her living honestly. She believes it’s a valuable lesson because the decision wasn’t an easy one; it was one of the toughest she had ever made. Despite any challenges or doubts, Tia chose to persevere, and her hope is that her children will find the courage to forge their own paths someday.
She also mentioned, ‘I hope my kids will do that.’ To me, this is the greatest present I can offer them. I don’t wish for them to live a life that I envision for them, or what others may expect of them, or what they believe they ought to be. I want them to understand it’s okay to have tough days. I want them to know it’s okay to pursue happiness. I want them to learn it’s okay to express their authentic selves.
Despite spending years sharing the limelight with Tamera on screen, it seems they don’t get to spend as much time together off-screen anymore. In a September preview of “Tia Mowry: My Next Act,” Tia admitted that being alone has been the hardest part of her divorce. She expressed moments when she yearns for her sister and wished they were still close enough to talk whenever needed, but unfortunately, their relationship isn’t in that state at present.
In simpler terms, Tia explained, “Since we reside in separate cities and lead distinct lives with our own families and individual needs, we aren’t as readily available to each other. However, this can be both wonderful and difficult.
It was surprising when Tia announced her return to reality TV, as Tamera found out along with the fans in May 2024. When asked by Entertainment Tonight, Tamera said she wasn’t aware of it until it became public knowledge. As for a possible appearance on Tia’s series, Tamera stated that she hadn’t been asked and took that as a sign she wouldn’t be making an appearance. However, Tamera expressed that she respected Tia’s decision to keep her show about her own story. Similarly, Tia didn’t seem to think it was necessary to inform Tamera about the reality show beforehand, stating that it was normal not to share everything with everyone, and that they each live their separate lives without needing to constantly update each other.
Previously, they have discussed their highs and lows in the past. On their old reality show, Tia & Tamera (aired from 2011-2013), a counseling session was held to help them improve their communication skills. As explained on The Real in 2019, Tamera said, “We were so different and needed to find a way to communicate positively for both of us.” She added, “I am sensitive as everyone knows, while my sister is assertive and independent. We had to figure out how to communicate effectively with each other.
From an early age, it was common for people to make comparisons between Tamera and her twin sister Tia. In a YouTube video from January 2024, she expressed this sentiment, stating that as twins, such comparisons were inevitable. “People’s brains naturally want to compare and look for differences,” she said. “For example, ‘This twin has a fuller face. This twin is thinner.’ or ‘One has a mole. One has a more bubbly personality. One is a little bit more shy.'”
Over time, these comparisons became bothersome to Tamera. She admitted that as she grew older and entered college and the TV industry, she began to take them personally, which made the situation toxic. A simple Google search would reveal numerous instances of these harmful comparisons online.
However, her mother provided advice that helped Tamera cope: “Comparison is the thief of joy.” Recognizing that despite being twins, each individual has unique qualities and talents, Tamera found comfort in understanding that she and her sister were different, and that this was perfectly okay. They might share the same DNA, but they possessed distinct gifts.
Similarly to how Tia has shared her experiences with Cory, Tamera has offered insights into her relationship with spouse Adam Housley. Although she refers to him as “the love of my life,” like any couple, they encounter peaks and valleys.
Reflecting on their 13-year union, which began in 2011, Tamera shared with TopMob News in May 2024 that it’s hard to believe how quickly the time has passed. “It’s gone by fast actually,” she said. “I always say, ‘You’re gonna have your ups and downs.’ Our marriage is not perfect, but I still find myself drawn to him. I appreciate who he is as an individual. And surprisingly, we are growing together rather than apart.”
Additionally, they make a point to keep in touch with each other.
Occasionally, you might inquire, “Are you content?” Tamera, who has children Aden and Ariah with Adam, went on. “What actions can we take to maintain our happiness? Since I don’t merely wish for a long marriage, but rather a long, joyful one.
After over a decade of being married, it appears that Tamera and Adam continue to maintain the excitement in their relationship. As the alum of “Twitches” expressed on an episode of “The Jennifer Hudson Show” in 2022, maintaining a happy marriage for her involves setting sexual goals. She also believes there’s nothing wrong with women openly discussing this topic.
Tamera further elaborated on her marital desires in her memoir “You Should Sit Down for This,” revealing a list of places she hopes to make love, such as the rooftop of a skyscraper, in a car during rain, and in each room of their house.
As a lifestyle advocate, I emphasize breaking free from traditional norms. Embrace your partner, celebrate your intimate connections, and delight in them! Simply because you’ve spent years in matrimony doesn’t imply that your passion should wane.
Reflecting on her first four years on The Real, Tamera admitted it was one of the toughest periods in her life. In her memoir, she spoke candidly about the stress, anxiety, and public scrutiny that took a toll on her well-being, leading her to experience severe anxiety attacks and excessive drinking.
However, Tamera also cherishes the memories she made during her seven years on the show. As she announced her departure from cohosting in 2020, she reflected on these fond moments and the lifelong friendships formed there. She was grateful for the opportunity to interview inspiring individuals who positively impacted her life.
In her Instagram post at the time, Tamera expressed pride in the achievements of herself and her fellow cohosts, including two NAACP Image Awards and a Daytime Emmy.
There’s been talk among fans about whether the popular ’90s show “Sister, Sister” could make a comeback, given the trend of reviving old series. However, Tia and Tamera Mowry, the show’s stars, have hinted that the process isn’t straightforward.
In 2017 on an episode of “The Real”, Tia explained, “My sister and I have been trying for a few months now, but we can only do so much.”
Despite some fans maintaining their hope for a revival, Tamera made it clear in May 2024 to “Us Weekly” that “It’s not going to happen.
