As a seasoned music enthusiast who’s been to more concerts than I can count, I must say that the news of Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra’s final show is bittersweet. Having grown up listening to their timeless tunes, it’s hard not to feel a pang of nostalgia at the thought of this iconic band hanging up their guitars for good.

Today’s a stunningly beautiful day, unfortunately, I must convey some bittersweet tidings: Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra has declared that their final performance will take place in the year 2025.

The band is set to bid farewell in London’s BST Hyde Park during July, marking the conclusion of a remarkable 55-year journey in the music industry.

In the announcement Lynne, who is the only official member, said: “My return to touring began at Hyde Park in 2014. It seems like the perfect place to do our final show. As the song goes: we’re gonna do it One More Time.”

Jim King, head of European festivals for AEG Presents, expressed that it was a privilege to host ELO’s farewell concert. He went on to say that Jeff Lynne’s ELO is adored globally, and their live performances are simply exceptional.

ELO, established in 1970 by Lynne (the founder) and keyboardist Roy Wood, experienced a change in its lineup when Roy was replaced by Richard Tandy. The band disbanded in 1986 but resurfaced in 2014, and three years after that, they were honored with induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This band is most recognized for their hit track “Mr. Blue Sky,” but they offer an array of diverse songs such as “Don’t Bring Me Down” and “Evil Woman.” If you’re planning to catch them in a concert, here are some essential details.
