As a fellow travel enthusiast who has braved some less-than-ideal weather conditions during my adventures, I can only imagine the rollercoaster of emotions Myriam Estrella is experiencing right now. Stuck on a Disney Cruise Line ship, smack dab in the path of Hurricane Milton, she’s undoubtedly living through one of the least magical cruises ever.
One TikToker is currently experiencing the least magical cruise on earth.
Fitness and theme park influencer Myriam Estrella has revealed that she’s presently aboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel, which is heading straight towards Hurricane Milton – a powerful category four storm predicted to hit Florida on October 9th.
In her October 8th TikTok update, Myriam shared that “a storm named Milton seems to be developing here,” and added, “Our captain tends to keep us in the dark about the situation until just a few moments before an event occurs.
Moreover, this policy applied to the crew members too. She clarified that the captain aimed to prevent misinformation from circulating, thereby preventing the entire ship’s passengers from becoming confused or agitated.
Essentially, the captain remains quite silent until nearly the last moment, a behavior I can comprehend yet find it somewhat unnerving.
Myriam, mentioning it was her initial cruise experience, also disclosed that both the ship and her residence were located in Milton’s projected path.
In a playful manner, she suggested that Milton was giving us a one-two punch, something only a man might do, she quipped. But in all seriousness, she has been feeling quite anxious all day, and when she says ‘F–k Milton,’ she means it lightly.
Personally speaking, I was quite anxious about the hurricane heading towards my hometown, given that’s where my beloved pets currently reside. In a previous video, I shared that these pups needed to be evacuated from their temporary shelter, but fortunately, I have friends and contingencies in place to ensure they remain safe and sound during this challenging time.
Myriam chose to go on a cruise despite an approaching hurricane because, before getting onboard, she had confirmed with Disney that Hurricane Milton wouldn’t be as intense as it eventually became.
She mentioned that everything seemed okay initially, but she had a feeling a storm was coming, possibly even a category one hurricane. However, they had experienced similar situations before, usually just involving strong winds and some rain. So while she was concerned, not alarmed, she acknowledged that this time it’s different because we’re dealing with a category five hurricane.
Regarding another cruise trip, Myriam expressed that she wouldn’t go during hurricane season, having learned her lesson from past experiences.
In her last video, she shared that the journey had caused quite a bit of anxiety, however, she referred to it as an unforgettable cruise experience. She expressed her hope that around 55 years from now, we can all reminisce about this event and share a good laugh.
