TikToker Sadaya Paige, 14, Hospitalized for “Adrenal Shock”

Sadaya Paige is recovering after a frightening medical emergency.

Dora J., the mother of a TikTok creator, recently shared that her daughter, who was born with Septo-optic Dysplasia (underdevelopment of the nerves connecting the eyes to the brain), had an unexpected decline in health and needed to be rushed to the hospital.

On June 22nd, Dora posted a picture on TikTok and Instagram showing her holding hands with Soraya, while an IV was connected to her arm. In the post, she talked about Soraya’s medical background, which includes a condition where she can’t produce stress hormones due to a cortisol deficiency. She went on to describe how this particular situation unfolded.

On Friday, things were going well for Sadaya, as she indicated in her post accompanied by a photo. Joining me at work, we then headed home, but later in the day and night, she began vomiting repeatedly – this was the initial sign of something unusual we observed.

The next day, Dora clarified that Sadaya, who was completely blind, appeared lethargic and unsteady, causing her to arrange for medical attention.

Dora explained, “We learned that Sadaya had gone into adrenal shock. In the emergency room, her temperature skyrocketed close to 104 degrees, and her blood pressure plummeted quickly. As a result, Sadaya was urgently transported to the ICU for treatment with blood pressure medication.

However, since Sadaya’s blood pressure persistently decreased, Dora mentioned that medical professionals decided to insert an oxygen tube through her windpipe and connect IV lines on her neck for administering potent medication. Despite being in a very critical condition, her mother stated that the situation was showing signs of improvement and she had already been weaned off the oxygen tube.

Dora mentioned that Sadaya’s condition remains quite painful, yet she manages to speak occasionally. Fortunately, she’s still among us.

Later on, Dora expressed gratitude on her Instagram post towards Sadaya’s well-wishers for providing support during the challenging experience they were all going through.

In the spirit of openness, I must confess that this experience ranks among the most terrifying encounters we’ve ever faced. Yet, amidst the fear, we find ourselves profoundly grateful for your unwavering prayers and affection.

Now, I can’t do a regular squat, not even on one leg. I’d lose balance if I tried. It feels like I’ve had a stroke or something.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

In an episode of Call Her Daddy from January 2025, she reminisced about facing criticism after multiple interviews, saying, “I was like, ‘Everybody, calm down.'” However, medical professionals joined the conversation in the comments and suggested she might be suffering from Cushing syndrome due to increased cortisol levels or steroid injections.

Amy, the creator of Life & Beth, was taken aback, thinking, “Am I being trolled by doctors?” After learning that she had been receiving steroid injections for her scars, she realized that this could be causing her Cushing syndrome. As she explained, “I’ve been getting these steroid injections after a breast reduction, a C-section, and so on.”

Upon further investigation, Amy discovered that the type of Cushing syndrome she had would resolve itself naturally, ensuring her health and wellbeing. Hailey Bieber encountered one of the most terrifying instances in her life when she experienced symptoms similar to a stroke during breakfast with her husband Justin Bieber in March 2022. As she shared on YouTube a month later, she became unresponsive and couldn’t speak due to facial drooping. After regaining her speech, she was rushed to the hospital for precautionary measures.

Upon examination, doctors discovered a small blood clot in her brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further tests at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot reportedly traveled through this hole to her brain, causing the TIA.

Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and is now feeling well.

In the same year as Hailey’s health incident, Justin also encountered a health issue of his own. Specifically, in June 2022, the “Baby” singer announced his diagnosis with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition causing temporary facial paralysis that led to the cancellation of the rest of his Justice World Tour.

Justin explained in an Instagram video that this virus targeted the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, resulting in facial paralysis. “As you can see,” he said, “this eye is not blinking. I can’t smile on this side of my face. This nostril will not move. So, there’s full paralysis on this side of my face.”

He further informed his followers that eating had become progressively difficult for him, but eventually, the paralysis subsided.

Hailey commented during a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin was doing well and felt much better. “It was just a very scary and random situation,” she said, “but he’s going to be totally fine, and I’m just grateful that he’s okay.

Initially examined by a doctor who administered a cortisone shot and sent him home, his sister, Deidra Dixon, then took him to a hospital. There they discovered that he had suffered a brain hemorrhage leading to a stroke. After undergoing surgery on the 20th day, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair on May 4 and was unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.

“I want to express my gratitude for every prayer,” he said, “because I needed each one of them.

In 2019, Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, penned an essay titled “A Battle for My Life” in The New Yorker. During filming, she experienced a severe headache at the gym that led to vomiting and escalating pain, which she later identified as damage to her brain.

Hospitalized for a scan, Emilia was diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening type of stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. She underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, describing the pain as unbearable. During recovery, she also experienced aphasia, speaking in nonsensical words.

A week later, the aphasia passed, and Emilia was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a follow-up scan in 2013 revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. She shared that she screamed in pain during the procedure, as it had failed and her chances of survival were precarious if they didn’t operate again through the traditional method, opening her skull.

Thankfully, Emilia is now reportedly at 100%.

Today, Cori is making progress in her recovery.
