TikTokers Matt & Abby Howard Break Silence on Leaving Kids on Cruise

As a seasoned lifestyle expert with years of experience in parenting and digital media, I must say that the situation involving Matt Howard and Abby Howard is both intriguing and concerning to some extent. While it’s essential to maintain an open mind about people’s personal choices, the safety of children should always be prioritized above all else.

Matt Howard and Abby Howard are setting the record straight.

The married couple who are active on TikTok drew some criticism when they revealed that during a cruise with their sons Griffin (age 2) and August (age 13 months), they decided to dine out while leaving their children in their cabin room.

Following criticism from various online sources, Matt (age 26) and Abby (age 25) clarified that they had never left their sons unattended.

Matt expressed in a TikTok post on September 16th, “We don’t typically produce videos like this, but some misinformation about us has been spreading, which is entirely false.

They make it clear that they take their parental responsibilities incredibly seriously, cherishing their children above all else, and are deeply protective towards them.

As reported by Matt, he along with his spouse Abby (who tied the knot in 2019), found themselves on a week-long cruise accompanied by Abby’s relatives. During this trip, Abby shared an Instagram Story indicating that they had dined out together and were keeping tabs on their kids back in their cabin using FaceTime.

Matt clarified, “Rumors began spreading that our kids were left unattended in their rooms, but let me set the record straight. We always had someone with our children on this boat, at all times, without exception.

Abby admitted that her tale might have caused confusion, which is why she later removed it a few hours after sharing it online.

She emphasized that it is absolutely out of the question for us to abandon our children without supervision, now or in the future. Under no circumstances do we wish to endanger them in any shape or form.

Abby mentioned that Griffin and August sleep in blackout tents each night, whether they’re at home or traveling. Since these tents come equipped with a monitor mount, the influencers can keep an eye on their kids even when they’re nearby, or as in this instance, when someone else is taking care of them.

She noted, “We just love to have eyes on them.”

In the wrap-up of the Unplanned Podcast, the hosts expressed gratitude not just towards people caring for their kids, but also Abby’s family, who played a crucial role in allowing them to exit their cabins during the cruise voyage.

Matt concluded by expressing his gratitude, saying, “I appreciate all of you for paying attention to our thoughts. It truly matters to us that you heard us out.

Following the new video, fans quickly jumped in to thank the podcasters for clearing the air.

One TikTok user commented, “I called it!” indicating that they predicted the event. They believe that most people who expressed concern about the video simply followed a trend without considering the actual facts. Apologies for the inconvenience you faced due to this situation.

A different user commented, “The way they managed the situation was remarkably mature given the amount of controversy and misunderstanding. They dealt with it in a composed and courteous manner. Wishing them well until the storm has passed.

The comments provide a stark difference to the ones users had written shortly after Abby posted to her Instagram Stories, saying they had switched their dinners to after the boys went to bed and “FaceTimed the monitors while we ate.”

One TikToker pointed out that not enough people seem to appreciate the gravity of true crimes. They posed a hypothetical situation: Suppose you’ve just finished dinner and don’t know how your children are doing. In an emergency, how long would it take you to get back to them?

A commenter on her video stated, “I’m merely questioning, in what other scenarios does she allow her child to be unattended?
