Time Travel is Dangerous – REVIEW

It seems that vintage shop owners, like Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson, don’t just buy their stock from regular sources. Instead, they often scavenge it from dumpsters, a not-so-ordinary method of acquiring items. However, this isn’t your typical junk you might find in a dumpster. Their unique time-traveling vehicle allows them to explore different eras, which is quite useful for their business Cha Cha Cha that is on the brink of closing due to their landlord’s eagerness to demolish it and build flats. This time machine, however, isn’t your ordinary dodgem car – it doesn’t have a teenage traveler hanging off the back or any such thing.

Their frequent journeys into the past for stock are a clever solution, but they find that these trips create disturbances in the space-time continuum. This dangerous time travel is a significant risk they must navigate to keep their business afloat and prevent any unintended consequences on history itself!

A group of inventors working out of garden sheds, led by Martin (Guy Henry), enters the fray. This includes Peter (the reliable Tony Way) and Ralph (Brian Bovell), who developed a time-travel device but abandoned it after ending up in a temporal limbo, which is where the movie derives its name. Soon, Ruth and Megan discover that Time Travel can be perilous when they too encounter similar predicaments.

In this production, you’ll encounter some charming scenes, and it adopts a humorous documentary approach with characters played by notable actors such as Johnny Vegas portraying a wonkey-donkey robot from a low-budget TV science program (similar to the TV comedy series ‘Look Around You’). Additionally, Sophie Thompson, Brian Blessed, the captivating Mark Heap, Jane Horrocks, and Stephen Fry who narrates are among the stars featured in this ensemble cast.
