As a film enthusiast with a penchant for unconventional narratives and a soft spot for time-travel stories, I must say that the Timestalker trailer left me quite intrigued. The blend of romance, action, and a hint of philosophy seems to be a refreshing departure from the usual romantic comedies we’ve come to expect.
From a quick glance at the Timestalker trailer, it certainly piqued our interest with its appearance as a more violent and gritty counterpart to typical Richard Curtis romantic comedies.
In the film Timestalker, Agnes (Alice Lowe) experiences a recurring pattern: she encounters the wrong man, faces a tragic demise, is reborn a century later, and then meets him again, only for the cycle to repeat. The key to escaping this violent fate lies in spiritual enlightenment, but it’s challenging when one is doomed to be foolish in love. Some lessons are simply too difficult to grasp within a single lifetime.
In “Timestalker,” Alice Lowe takes on the roles of writer, director, and actress. She appears alongside Jacob Anderson, Aneurin Barnard, Tanya Reynolds, and Nick Frost in this production.
Timestalker is released in UK and Irish cinemas from 11th October 2024
