Grimlore Games and THQ Nordic have disclosed fresh details about the progress of “Titan Quest II”, unveiling insights from the latest playtest as well as an updated Early Access launch schedule.

Originally set for a Winter 2024/2025 debut, “Titan Quest II” will now be made available in Early Access during Summer 2025. This shift is due to a congested ARPG release calendar and the wish to provide the game with the attention it deserves.

The team at Grimlore expressed heartfelt appreciation for the tremendous response to their recent demo playtest, which saw over 92% of participants rating their experience positively or very positively. Long-time “TitanQuest” fans particularly appreciated the game’s faithful recreation of the original while incorporating modernized features.

During the playtest, players ventured through the game’s initial chapter, selecting from dual Masteries and battling the popular first boss, Appollonia the Terrible. The visuals and audio garnered high praise, with average scores of 5.25/6 and 5.16/6 respectively. Exploration and environmental storytelling were often singled out as standout features.

While acknowledging areas for improvement, such as combat fluidity, ability aiming, and balance, the team is already working on these issues. Performance optimizations will also continue, while new enhancements like customizable control schemes and improved UI indicators are in development based on community input.

Grimlore Games reiterated their dedication to producing a worthy successor to “Titan Quest”, one that honors its legacy yet caters to a new generation of players. The developers are actively incorporating feedback and fine-tuning features prior to the Early Access launch.
