He emphatically stated, “It’s not primarily about the money, I think they aim for success, but their primary motivation wasn’t monetary gain. If they hadn’t conceived an exceptional script, they wouldn’t have undertaken it and they wouldn’t have invited me and Tom.

Although the sitcom actor is thrilled to return to the recording studio, he had earlier expressed his dissatisfaction at being swapped with Chris Evans for the 2022 spin-off film “Lightyear,” which chronicled the story of the fictional astronaut who served as the inspiration behind the action figure in the Toy Story universe.

Woody, being cynical and self-centered, certainly isn’t the type to belt out an ‘I want’ song. Buddy movies focus more on suppressed feelings, physical confrontations like a slap on the arm, “I hate you,” rather than open displays of emotion.

11. At first, when they began brainstorming for a sequel, the studio thought that Toy Story 2 would be released straight-to-video, since most animators were occupied with A Bug’s Life at the time. However, it eventually garnered an exceptional 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

12. In the process of making the sequel, disaster struck in 1998 when a staff member unintentionally deleted all the project files by pressing a wrong button. Just as it seemed all was lost, another employee spotted the issue at the last moment. Unfortunately, 90% of the film was already wiped out and the backup files were missing. Fortunately, Galyn Susman, the supervising technical director, had saved backup copies at home because she had been working from home more frequently due to a recent birth.

13. The production process of Toy Story 2, particularly due to a last-minute overhaul of nearly the entire film, was so demanding that numerous animators developed carpal tunnel syndrome and strains. By the time the movie was finished, approximately one-third of the staff had some form of repetitive stress injury, as revealed by Ed Catmull, the president of Pixar, to the Los Angeles Times.
