ToHeart remake launches June 26 in Japan

The revamped version of “ToHeart” is set to release on June 26, 2023, in Japan for Nintendo Switch and Steam. Aquaplus made the announcement in the latest edition of Weekly Famitsu. The standard physical copy will retail at 3,980 yen, while the digital version will be priced at 3,080 yen. For those who want the Premium Edition, it will set you back 10,780 yen and comes with a Blu-ray disc containing all 13 episodes of the 1999 “ToHeart” anime series, remastered in high-definition.

Here are the latest details:

  • The opening has been fully recreated in 3D.
  • Event scenes are in full 3D and presented using visual cinema methods.
  • Players can switch between the windowed text display and traditional visual novel styles at any time.
  • New voice-over cast members include Akari (voiced by Kana Ichinose), Multi (voiced by Hina Youmiya), Shiho (voiced by Kakeru Hota), Aoi (voiced by Saho Shirasu), and Hiroyuki (voiced by Shogo Sakata).

During a chat with Weekly Famitsu, producers Naoya Shimokawa and directors Tsutomu Washimi shared that, at present, they don’t have any plans for a “ToHeart 3.” Instead, their aim is to revamp ToHeart 2 and extend the franchise. However, before they can do this, the remake of ToHeart needs to garner significant sales first.

As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got some exclusive insights to share about this upcoming remake. Rest assured, it won’t introduce any fresh heroines or resurrect the mini-games that graced the original PlayStation version. We’re sticking with the classic characters and gameplay for this one!
