Game developer Genki has rolled out a fresh update for the Early Access street racing title Tokyo Xtreme Racer. The new version, which bumps it up to 0.13.0, introduces a slew of novel features into the game. Among these additions is support for Steam’s achievement system, although at present only Early Access-earned achievements are visible; additional ones will be unveiled as the racing game nears its full release.
In addition to Steam achievements, the game Tokyo Xtreme Racer now offers extra regulations for players to use while racing. These new rules allow players to manage their cars’ water and oil temperatures during gameplay. When these additional rules are activated, it becomes essential for players to prevent their car from overheating by avoiding prolonged high temperatures. To reduce pressure, players can switch on a “safe” mode that restricts engine speed, output torque, and other performance factors to minimize the risk of overheating.
As a gamer, I find that ramping up the difficulty level offers more than just a tougher gameplay experience – it comes with enhanced rewards! For instance, when I triumph over my rivals, the victory points are boosted by 1.5 times. To unlock these challenging rules, all I need to do is toggle on the advanced settings from the GARAGE menu in the game.
In the racing mode, you’ll notice some updates to the user interface. Besides the usual oil and water temperature indicators above the tachometer, the game now includes an odometer and a tripmeter, allowing players to monitor their car’s mileage more accurately. The nitro gauge has been slightly reduced in size, but don’t worry, you can now effortlessly determine if you’re in a slipstream. And if you prefer a less cluttered interface, you can adjust the visibility of these UI elements using the game settings menu.
