Tom Brady Reveals Surprising Addition to His Notoriously Strict Diet

Tom Brady is expanding his snack time playbook. 

In a recent post, the retired NFL quarterback, known for his stringent diet, offered a peek into his family vacation in Europe with ex-wife Gisele Bündchen and their children, Benjamin (15) and Vivian (12). To everyone’s surprise, he confessed his meal of choice during their trip was a pizza loaded with prosciutto and mozzarella.

“American by birth,” he wrote on the June 3 Instagram Story, per People, “Dutch by appetite.” 

Absolutely, Brady’s decision to eat a Dutch meal deviates significantly from his strict dietary habits as a football player that excluded items such as white sugar, white flour, caffeine, dairy products, vegetables like tomatoes, and others.

Even though the seven-time Super Bowl champion now allows himself to indulge in his food cravings whenever he wishes, there are certain foods he still firmly declines. For instance, strawberries, which he’s quick to clarify is more of a matter of personal taste rather than dislike.

In a 2018 interview with People magazine, Brady, father of Jack (aged 17) with Bridget Moynahan, candidly shared that he simply dislikes certain foods. He explained, “I don’t enjoy the smell, texture, or taste. It’s not about my diet, it’s more a matter of preference, but somehow it became associated with my eating habits.

In between updating followers about his recent culinary and travel escapades, he’s additionally disclosed details of his quality time with his trio of children – ranging from family trips to the father-son excursion at Coachella with Jack in April.

Brady stated at the Fortune Global Forum in November that his children will inevitably encounter their own hurdles, and they must find ways to surmount these difficulties on their own. He emphasized that he will provide support just as his parents did, and he will grow and learn alongside them throughout this process.

Despite having been a father for almost twenty years, the former Super Bowl champion openly admitted to the audience, “I believe being a parent might be the most challenging task we all face.
